The Boy's first movie!

PrairieMom wrote: I decided that I really needed to spend some one on one time with The Boy so on Saturday I took him to his first movie. We saw Cars and he loved it! He was a little freaked out at first, the theatre was really dark and big, but once the movie got started he was totally into it. We even had popcorn and soda. He Never gets soda, so this was a real treat for him. Acutally, it may have been the first time he drank it when it still had some fizz to it! usually he just finds my can that has gone flat! laugh.gif He called it a "cool sip" so he would eat popcorn then say "cool sip mommy?" laugh.gif
Now he is totally into cars. I had to get him a t-shirt and the underpants. (darn marketing) laugh.gif
We have done some serious regression with the potty training since baby girl arrived, so I am hoping that this will give him a little incentive. If he keeps his cars underpants dry and puts poo in the tiolet we will go see another movie. Maybe Over The Hedge. anyone seen it?

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Oh how fun!!
Alex has the Cars underpants too....cuz I'm in love with Matar! blush.gif MIL got him a Cars outfit too.
I've been debating whether or not I should take him to see it in the theatre or not...he would be either really naughty cuz he doesnt want to sit for that long or really good cuz it's soo exciting to see a giant "tv".

Haven't seen over the hedge, sorry I'm not much help. Good idea though to keep him motivated to use the potty!! Whatever works!

ediep replied: we took Jason to see cCars on Saturday too. It was really cute, but too long IMO. About halfway through, Jason was asking if it was over soon and he had to take 2 peepee breaks during the movie.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Glad he could see his first theater movie, and enjoy the concessions. thumb.gif
Wishing him much continued success with the potty training.

Have not seen Over the Hedge, but I hope he enjoys that too!

luvbug00 replied: Glad he had fun!! I didn't care much for over the hedge but you may like it.. smile.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: We are hoping to take our two to see cars soon! But I heard that Over the Hedge had some bad "potty" humor in it, and it is rated pg, where I just saw this morning that in the middle of july there is a new movie coming out called, "ants bully" it was rated G and had some really big stars in it..
looks cute.

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: That's so nice you got to spend some alone time with him. I bet it made him feel really special. Good luck with the potty training, it sound's like you have a great plan. wavey.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: How awesome!!!

Here's hoping cars stay dry!

MyLuvBugs replied: Tooo cute! wub.gif And such a good mom you are for making him feel so special like that. smile.gif

I'm sure now that he's got some incentive, he'll really want to please you and try to go to another movie. Hopefully, potty training will be fast now. hug.gif

3xsthefun replied: Glad he had a good time! thumb.gif

PrairieMom replied:
Ben told me this morning that he didn't want to potty on Mater. laugh.gif "mater wants to stay dry Mooooommmmmmmy" rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

TheOaf66 replied: yep, Tanner gets into all these movies...first it was Incredibles, Madagascar, Over the Hedge and now Cars (of course NEMO) so he gets toys and clothes and such...I feel sorry if we have another boy and he has to wear hand me downs from movies that were years ago laugh.gif

luvmykids replied: wub.gif What a treat for The Boy! I bet the whole day from popcorn to mommy all to himself was big!

KingMom replied: Tara, your such a super mom! I bet he loved every minute your "date!"

PrairieMom replied:
I don't really feel like a super mom. I think I needed that "sate" just as much as he did. I really felt like I needed to re-connect with him. He has really been frusterating me lately.

na81 replied: Glad you both had fun!! We have been wanting to take Taylor to see Cars but hadn't heard anything of whether it was good or not....now I want to go! biggrin.gif We have seen Over the Hedge (Taylor's first time at the movies) and I didn't really care for it, but many of the kids liked it! Hope Ben continues to use his potty!

Mom2Boyz replied: Sounds like alot of fun!! I'm glad he enjoyed his first time at the theater thumb.gif
