The Bed - before and after
PrairieMom wrote: Okay, so we took the boxspring off. The bed already has slats, and Dh will go get some plywood for good measure this weekend. What a Mess. I guess thats what I get for trying to be "green" and re-purposing something instead of just going to a store and picking out something nice.
At any rate, she LOVES it. her exact words were "Oooooohhhhh! I lites it!"
so here it is..
Before: with Ben for perspective

And after:

She looks so tiny in it! Even without the boxspring, and a stool, she still has a hard time getting in it, or getting out for that matter, it works almost as good as a crib.
lisar replied: Much better. I love it though.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Awww so cute!
A&A'smommy replied: awwww it looks good!!!! She is SOOO cute btw and she does look super tiny in her new big girl bed!!!
Our Lil' Family replied: MUCH better! Now you can see the pretty headboard!!
MommyToAshley replied: You did a great job on the bed!!! You don't really get a feel for how big the bed is until you see the picture with her in it. She does look so tiny on it. LOL. So cute!
I love the quilt you ended up with -- her whole room is adorable!
PrairieMom replied: the sad thing is, that the bed is just a Full size, she is just a tiny peanut. I think she may be all the way to 21 pounds now, but good grief! she's gonna be 2!
stella6979 replied: Oh, I love it! You did a great job Tara!
luvmykids replied: Wow, that made a big difference! She does look so tiny
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: omg - looks awesome! That whole room is just gorgeous. So, did you paint the bed frame solid white or is there a little bit of pink detail in there? (or is the pink I'm seeing a reflection from the walls?)
Crystalina replied: That should last her for years!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Cute! That looks much better!
PrairieMom replied: Its solid white with thin pink details that are the exact color of her walls. that was a total PITB to do too. I don't know why I can't just make things easy on myself. It took longer to paint than her actual walls, which took me 2 weeks to do before she was born.

HuskerMom replied: You did a really nice job!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Oh that is so much better and the headboard is very pretty. When my brother and I were in college my Dad made both of us these platforms to put a mattress on. It was made of plywood and it was pretty sturdy. That might be all you need for the support.
Mommy2BAK replied: well done!
Brendan's_Mommy replied: much gooder
DVFlyer replied: No need for plywood if it has slats.

Had Peyton at the doctors yesterday--he's a whopping 26.5 lbs. She IS tiny! Love the bed, very cute!
sparkys2boys replied: She's to cute and that bed is amazing!
