Thai food? - Is anyone a fan?

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Pad thai is a traditional menu item that most people like. It's rice noodles wok fried with choice of meat (chicken, beef or pork) or you can do tofu or veggie. It comes with cilantro and lime on top, which is why I like it so much...the spicy sauce with the tangy lime. YUM! You can also choose how hot you want it. I am also a huge fan of coconut curry, red or green! It's sweet and spicy at the same time!

I haven't found a good Thai place around me...but DH and I used to go A LOT when we lived in the city. tongue.gif

stella6979 replied:
Thanks a bunch! We have a Thai place right near us, but I'm always so hesitant cause I have no idea what half the items on the menu are. I think I'll give the pad thai a try.
Thanks again!

MyLuvBugs replied: Oh I LOVE Thai food. If you like Spicy....try some curried Chicken. They also have a peanut chicken or tofu dish that's pretty good too. One of my close friends is Thai and her family owns a string of restuarants in California. She'd always hook us up when we went out to eat. LOL laugh.gif There's a soup too.....Gosh darn though, I can't remember the name of it. I'll have to send her an email now to ask, but it's SUPER spicy. Her hubby and my hubby can't stand it, but she and I were like 'oh this is nothin' LOL laugh.gif

Boys r us replied: the only thing I ever get when I go to the thai restaurant is a lemon grass chicken dish..it's great!!

DansMom replied: Oh, I'm crazy about Thai food. Since discovering Thai, I never eat Chinese food. Most Thai places will offer three types of coconut milk curries: red, yellow, and green. Of these, my favorite is definitely yellow, but red is sweeter. There's a dish that is potato and peanuts in yellow coconut milk curry (usually also includes your choice of meat or tofu). It's called Gang Masaman at the restaurant we go to. It's my favorite Thai dish.

grapfruit replied: Hmm, I've never tried Thai but have always been curious. I think next time I'm visiting my friend in Columbus, we'll hit one up. There's a TON of restaurants there!

sparkys2boys replied: I think I would like it but there is no where around here that serves it at all. I like spicy so i'm thinking it would be super good.

jcc64 replied: Love Thai food, Vietnamese too. I agree- pad thai is probably the "safest" thing to get the first time out- but don't be afraid to try other things too.

MommyToAshley replied: I have never tried it. Is everything Thai spicey? I don't care for spicey foods myself, but DH loves it.

Mommy2BAK replied: I'm ker-azy about Chicken Pad Thai

stella6979 replied: Thanks everyone! I've written down all the choices you've given me and I'm going to try them all.....eventually. Tomorrow is our "eat out" night, and I'm thinking Thai will be on the menu. smile.gif

redplaydoh replied: Oh gosh this all sounds so yummy!! I'll have to see if there is a Thai restaurant here somewhere.

mom2my2cuties replied:
Most places will let you tell them you don't want it made spicy. I usually have my Pad Thai mild because I always get it raided by Andy, so of course, I can't have her screaming because it was too spicy. cool.gif

I love Thai food! smile.gif I agree that your first time out, unless you are super adventurous Pad Thai is the way to go. I love the texture thing with it...I don't know why, but that, other than the flavor of course, is my favor thing about pad thai.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Also very good, if you really like spicy food, is Cambodian food.

Yum yum yum!!!!!

That sure gets me to drink my water for the day. laugh.gif

stella6979 replied:
Hmmmm....Cambodian food? I'm not sure if we have anything like that around here. I'll have to check, cause I do love anything spicy. I say, the hotter the better!! biggrin.gif
