Tantrums! - When do they start and end?
moped wrote: Tell me - I am trying to prepare myself!!!!
When did yours start and when did it end?
MichaelsMommy replied: They end? My girls are almost teens and still have them lol Michaels started at about 10mos I think. He's not to bad with them, but we do get the whole throwing himself on the ground drama thing.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Maddie: Started at 14-15 mos
Ethan: Started at the same time
IMO...it NEVER ENDS!!!
ammommy replied: It seems like Megan's started in the womb They became full fledged at about 8-9 months and I don't see an end in sight.
C&K*s Mommie replied: like everyone else said..... THEY NEVER END!!
It is a lifelong party!!
Christian: began I believe right before she turned three or sometime thereafter
Kellie: at birth!!
luvbug00 replied: Mya was at 4 and they never end!!!!
MommyToAshley replied: Ashley wasn't one to throw tantrums, but she was challenging in other ways. I think it depends on the child and their personality as to whether or not they throw tantrums and when they start. I will have to admit, the most challenging age is 3 so far.
MamaJAM replied: I'm another who isn't sure where the 'end' is. They change as they get older...but they are still tantrums.
My kids all started with 'real' tantrums around 18 months.
fashionmumofboys replied: I agree they don't end.
Can't really remember the age when my boys started.
coasterqueen replied: Ends? Did someone say ends? They haven't yet, lol. Course Kylie doesn't throw tantrums like I see some kids in stores, lol, but she has them.
I'm sorry to say that Megan, even at age 10 months throws tantrums. SERIOUSLY! If she sees that her sister has something she wants, OMG look out she just sits there and screams and screams and screams. I don't even want to think about it when she has more control of her extremeties and can kick and scream at the same time.
Mom2Boyz replied: Conner started around 15 to 18 months, and it seems like each one is worse than the one before. I don't see them ending for us any time soon.
huggybugboy replied: Yeah, Miles has been doing it for a couple of months now. If I tell him No or take something away from him that he shouldnt have, he will throw himself back and kick his legs and scream. Great...I wonder what I have to look forward to.
jem0622 replied: I hate to tell you this...but they never end. Only the dynamics of it changes.
kayla's mama replied: Kayla just started throwing hers. I'm in for it My mom has always said that "I hope you have a girl who is 100 times worse than you ever were" I believe she has jinxed me
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Wil started somewhere in between 12 and 15 months. They never get that bad, but he will sometimes throw his body on the floor and cries when he doesn't get something he wants. I have no idea when they end.
luvmykids replied: Amen, sister!
The twins were both awesome at 2, no tantrums, well mannered, obedient. I swear the day they turned 3 they flipped a switch and have been making up for it ever since!
Macie is almost 2 and still hasn't had one, other than over tired types. So far she's wonderful, even if we don't tell her to, she goes to time out when she knows she did something wrong. But if the twins are any indication, that doesn't last forever. Sigh ........
ediep replied: by far, Jason has had the most tantrums from age 3...Its amazing...almost hhis 3rd birthday to the day is when the tantrums started. he is not even 3 1/2 yet, so they are still going on
moped replied: You guys are scaring me!
BAC'sMom replied: Brand started about 12- 14 months, Ansley probably 18-24 she still has her moments. She's our little Drama Queen! Callum started throwing fits about 6 months ago, he arches his back, falls down, kicks, screams, heck he even throw things! Fun Fun Fun
[QUOTE]jem0622 Posted on Jan 19 2006, 02:34 PM I hate to tell you this...but they never end. Only the dynamics of it changes. [QUOTE] Ditto!
TeagansMom609 replied: Teagan started around 15 mos. I think. So far there is no end in sight. By the time she is done with them, Matthew will be starting. Its just never going to stop!
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I thought what everyone has said as soon as I saw the title of this post! They end??? Wait someone forgot to tell my princess that! Tay started around 2 1/2 and got VERY good at them around 3 1/2. She has gotten lots better now as we explain more to her-but we all still have our days~right?
moped replied: WOW - so it sounds like the 2-3 range is bad then!!!
GRREEEAAAATTTTTTTTT
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Poor Jen! You have me laughing girlie! Do they not say TERRIBLE TWOs up there?
moped replied: Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm YES...............LOL
holley79 replied: I think Annika already has them. They get worse when she has the hiccups. They say they don't bother babies but I think they tick her off.
CAMSMOM1 replied: I was wondering the same thing, if the tantrums ever stop...guess they don't!
Cameron started around 15 months old. He was so well behaved before then. He never cried, always a HAPPY BABY! And boy did that all CHANGE!!!
When he throws a tantrum, he screams at the top of his lungs, throws himself on the floor, hits me, he's tried biting me...hitting his head on the wall, throwing toys!!!
He'll be happy as can be, and all of a sudden, BAM...he turns into a crazy person! I have tried ignoring him, taking toys away, timeouts...nothing has worked. Sometimes when I ignore him he calms down.
Usually, he throws his fits when he is wanting food. He is obcessed with food, and when it's time to stop eating, he loses it.
I was hoping this goes away, but from what I read, I'm in for a loooong ride!
