Tanner's Teacher called

Boys r us wrote: Sunday night! We had just walked in the door from our weekend trip and the phone was ringing..I answered it and it was Mrs Harvey..I'm thinking Ohhhh GREAAT!

Well she just wanted to tell me that she ran out of yellow slips for Parent teacher Conference apts, but wanted to tell me my time slot. She also said she wanted to tell me that if she could pick one child in all her 23 years of teaching to "bottle" it would be Tanner! She said I'd done a magnificant job raising him and that he was a wonderful little boy!!! WOW!!! I was so happy to hear that!
(too bad he's not so well behaved at home!!)

Yesterday he brought his report card home..ALL A's!!!! Which truely is amazing..we were going over his spelling words the other night he has words like Wholly and holy and insight and incite, so not only does he have to learn the spelling, he has to learn the meaning and know how to use it in a sentence. My little smarty pants!!!
We normally pay him $25 an A but he asked us if he could get an xbox 360 instead...which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't mean new more expensive games..so we told him we had to think about it.

amynicole21 replied: WTG, Tanner! What a smartie pants!! thumb.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: woohoo.gif WTG TANNER!!!!! (and mom! WOW!!! )

TANNER'S MOM replied: Way to go TANNER... and Congrats Nichole.. you do good work..

And my Tanner only gets a $1.00 an A..lol So.. Tanner is right up town Shhhhhh don't let mine know what the going rate is in other parts of the country.. He will ask for a cost of living raise.. rolling_smile.gif

I am as Happy as a (Melba) Peach for you! lololol

OMG, $25 an A! ohmy.gif Don't ever tell my child that. tongue.gif She will get the privelage of just being proud of working so hard for it.....and maybe a free meal at Pizza Hut. I still think they do that when you get A's. laugh.gif

DansMom replied: He's a smarty-pants alright! This is going to get expensive for you laugh.gif

luvbug00 replied: WTG Tanner!!!! wub.gif

Boys r us replied: Well, it was 10 last year, but this year he managed to swindle Rick into agreeing to 25 "since the 4th grade is really hard work" I wasn't included in this conversation b/c Tanner knew I wouldn't agree to it..so needless to say..Rick will be shelling out the dough!

I do think it's important though to give him incentive to continue doing well. When I was in school, I was pretty smart like Tanner..but I didn't do anything I could get away with not doing...b/c I didn't care. So I try to urge him to keep on doing the best he can do instead of just barely scraping by.

A&A'smommy replied: WOW that must be an amazing feeling, but I agree with his teacher you have done a wonderful job with him, he is incredibly smart and really sweet too!!! love2.gif love2.gif WTG Mom and Tanner!

coasterqueen replied:
That's a very good thing to do I agree. Encouraging our children to achieve is great and something I am all for. We try to teach/encourage Kylie to achieve at things, little things at this point, and how she can see the reward of her efforts. She just gets so tickled when she's done something instead of having us do it for her.

Boys r us replied: Isn't it funny how independant they're all becoming!!! Brae cracks me up with his "I'll do it attitude"!! Although now he's into wiping himself ALL BY HIMSELF ..which freaks me out a bit..but I try to refrain from being overbearing and just let him do it and then check on his bottom when he's done!

gr33n3y3z replied: WTG Tanner
Great job on those A's thumb.gif

lol about Brae
that used to drive me crazy but I left them do it then checked also

moped replied: That must be great things ot hear about your boy - I only hope one day I can say the same!!!

WTG Tanner!

My2Beauties replied: WTG Tanner sorry I am late on this one - he is such a good boy!
