TANNER'S MOM wrote: Well our small little dog...caught a rabbit! And Tanner saved it. It is a small little baby rabbit. It's in the house??? What do I with it? I have no hutch or anything??? It's a wild rabbit.. I am sure it might die.. I will prob make him release it again.
But he named it cutie pie... he felt like a hero!
ediep replied: awww, its cute! so is Tanner!
mckayleesmom replied: Rabbits can actually be easily house trained like a cat...and use a liter box and everything...hmmm...just depends on how wild it is.....just get some rabbitt food.
5littleladies replied: My mom had a wild rabbit as a pet before I was born. I don't know how she cared for it, but obviously it is possible!
ions_momma replied: Awww I love rabbits! I know someone that had to wild rabbits as pets and they did fine in the house.
3xmommy replied: Awwww Mel... he is so cute! And plus he saved a baby animal, come on.. that is so sweet!! *gushes*
As far as the bunny goes, you can pick some wild greens outside... those weeds with the dandelions on 'em and wild lettuce. If it was out where a dog could reach it then I'd say it has been weaned already. Just use wild food until ya get some pellets.

MommyToAshley replied: Aweee, could Tanner be any sweeter? Good looks, brains, and a good heart... some lady is going to be very lucky some day (in the very very far off future)
Boys r us replied: awww...What a heart of gold that little man of yours has!!!! Very sweet, but I also don't know what to do with a wild rabbit?!?! Get a big box and line it with newpaper?!?! if you're worried he'll jump out, then put the screen our of a window over the box. Heck I don't know...it's all I could come up with!
My2Beauties replied: THat is so sweet, I love bunnies! Wild rabbits can live inside and become domesticated, we had one when I was a little girl! YOu could go talk with a pet store to see what they need to eat and stuff. I don't remember - I was really little.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I have raised rabbits before..just not WILD rabbits. This one looks like it should be on the momma still.
I took on of those plastic tubs..and made vents in it..and greens to eat.
Dh is going to buy it a water thingy...lol
Tanner and I held it all day.. He brought it to town w/ him today..lol

moped replied: Ahhhhhhhhhh, swwet. I was scared to open it incase it was a spider or a snake!!!!
kidsarecrazy replied: As the others have said, you can definitely feed him. Rabbits eat grass, seeds, lettuce, carrots, celery...most of the veggies you have in your fridge...does the little guy seem hurt from the dog or is he ok? Since he is so little, you can sit him in your bathtub...he probably won't be able to jump out of that...Additionally, this link may helphttp://www.rabbit.org/
Good luck!

redchief replied: Being a domestic rabbit owner (actually my son John owns the silly animal) I know that rabbits can be litter trained. Now that Buster's getting old, though, he has some what I call "mental slips". He forgets and poops on the floor some days. It's not a big deal because the pellets vacuum up easily.
Wild rabbits don't house train well however. He looks like he's fully weaned, so Alfalfa feed is best (looks like green hay and comes in a plastic bag at any feed store). You're definitely going to want to release him when he's strong enough to go though. Wild rabbits don't hutch well, but I've heard where a rabbit as small as the one Tanner's working with will come back, kind of like a feral cat; kind of a visiting pet. Good luck!
A&A'smommy replied: awwwwwwwwwww I don't have a clue what to do with it... try treating it like one you would buy from a pet store?
