Take to work lunch ideas - I need help
moped wrote: Ok, so I told myself i am going to stop buying lunch downtown everyday, what can I take for lunch that is healthy but easy to transport and will fill me up????
MommyToAshley replied: Do you have a fridge at your work?
moped replied: Oh yes and microwave!
coasterqueen replied: I do soups a lot. Just buy the campbells ones that you can pop right in the microwave, or regular ones if you have a bowl to put them in. Sandwiches, chips, veggie and fruit is always fast and simple. Microwave dinners. A lot of times I don't eat much for lunch so I'll have popcorn instead, somewhat healthy if you get right kinds and not so fattening.
moped replied: Well I am using this to also lose the 10 pounds i packed on since coming back to work a year ago....I knew it would happen and the weight I was at a year ago was not healthy for me, but still! I want to wear those size 6 pants again - UGH!
I should get those microwave WW dinners.......and fruit for snack etc.
Are the Campbells soups low cal etc?
coasterqueen replied: If I remember correctly they are pretty low cal. When I did WW I used to eat the tomato soup all the time for lunch. Then have some almonds or something like that to go with it.
msoulz replied: Make extra dinners and take leftovers!
moped replied: I only cook on weekends because i work all day and get home around 530, Tom will have the kids fed and sometimes he makes us dinner - sometimes not!
But weekends I cook more for the kids for lunch -
DVFlyer replied: We BBQ'd 6 chicken breasts monday. We ate 2 of them and I eat the other 4 throughout the week for my lunch.
e.g. Today I'm eating one with some green leaf lettuce and bit of salsa.
luvmykids replied: Get a bag of the frozen chicken breasts (or thighs, which I prefer), the kind where you can cook one or twelve. Then you can cook two or three and use them through the week for a sandwich, in salads, even with pasta and a little sauce.
Salads are easy too...I always have tons of salad stuff on hand (chicken, dried cranberries, dried apricots, bleu cheese, walnuts. Or feta cheese, olives, tomatos, etc). I used to think salads weren't filling enough but once I started eating a BIGGER salad I realized they are
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I do the campbell's vegetable cream soups. They come in a green box. They have a green veggie one, a tomato basil one, and a squash one that I love. I usually throw in a salad with a little chicken for protein. You don't have to cook the chicken, they make cut up chicken breasts. I also do sandwiches, or homemade lunchables with crackers, summer sausage and cheese. Since I started working the night shift, I save probably $35/week since the cafeteria is closed at night.
youngmomofone replied: progresso lite soups are so good. you can bring in a salad and a separate container for meat you can warm up to throw on the salad. 98% fat free popcorn, fruit, veggies. I wouldnt eat a WW meal every day since they have a lot of salt in it, but if you drink enough water to flush the salt out then it will be ok.
A&A'smommy replied: Progresso has WW points on them and cambells has a healthy select or something to that effect. Lean cuisine has some yummy stuff
