TTC again

Halo42101 wrote: It feels really weird to be back on this board but my husband & I want ttc again. Of course we want to make sure everything is okay with me first. I was wondering if anyone has heard of a bicornuate uterus. My obgyn said from previous ultra sounds it showed that is what I have. She described it and drew it as a heart shaped uterus. She said that is not why I had 2 miscarriages. She thinks it more than likely has something to do with the chromosomes. She said she hopes this doesn't happen again but if I have another miscarriage, she will look into testing my chromosomes. She said we should be able to conceive again but that they will have to keep a closer eye on me next time. I hope and pray that all goes well for us next time. We really want to have a baby.

Jessi

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Yes, I have heard of a bicornuate uterus, but have also heard that MANY women have successful pregnancies regardless. I've heard that it gives a little less room for the baby, especially around the 3rd trimester because the uterus has two cone shaped cavities instead of one large one. So overall, it may just be a bit uncomfortable for you at that point (which believe me, it is anyway), but no harm to the baby. I don't think it's anything to worry about, but I'm sure your doc knows way more than I do.

Hoping it all goes well for you... hug.gif TTC VIBES!!!

kayla's mama replied: hug.gif I have a heart shaped uterus. I had a fairly normal pg. Glad you guys are thinking of ttc again hug.gif

Halo42101 replied: Thank you all for best wishes and comforting thoughts. I am relieved to know that other woman go on to deliver healthy babies, even while having a bicornuate uterus. I would also just like to add that you all have beautiful families and babies. I get all teary eyed when I see your sweet babies on the pictures you show. God bless you & your families.

Jessi

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Jessi, one of my friends at work has had two babies with a bicornate uterus. Both were c sections, but both full term and healthy. Good luck TTC. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Halo42101 replied: Thank you for sharing that with me, Kelly. It is comforting to know that. I am doing a little better just knowing we are going to ttc again. It helps keep my spirits up. By the way, I have been wanting to tell you, I love the name Lexis. It is such a sweet name and goes great with Logan. God bless the rest of your pregnancy and keep you all well. hug.gif

Chiflata2003 replied: I hope that your next pregnancy will be a bring home baby. hug.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: I'm so glad that you're going to try again. That's wonderful news, and I know you and your DH will have a beautiful baby soon. hug.gif

I have actually heard of a bicorniate uterus before. A friend of mine in High School had it. And when she got PG, she would continue to have her period through the pregnancy b/c the other half of her uterus would shed it's layers. Really weird stuff. But women that have this type of uterus CAN and DO have healthy babies all the time. You just have to be patient. hug.gif

My mother had 7 miscarriages in a 5 year time span. She always said...."I never had a problem GETTING pregnant, just staying pregnant." smile.gif But then a couple months after she and dad, just gave up and settled for just being the two of them....I was conceived and born almost 11 months later ( I was REALLY late - 3 weeks.) She said to me once that I'm her only child b/c I was too perfect. smile.gif But I really think it was b/c she didn't want to go through the heart-ache of more miscarriages.

The point to my story is there isnt' always a reason...Not chromosmal, or physical....sometimes it just happens until you get that "perfect" baby that you're ment to have.

I wish you both the best of luck, and I hope you conceive a new baby soon. hug.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Jessi, I am not having a baby. But thanks for the comment about Logan's name. hug.gif I sure hope everything works out for you.

Halo42101 replied: Oh, I am sorry Kelly. I must have misunderstood you for another poster. wub.gif I feel silly now.

Hugs from,
Jessi

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: No need to feel silly. You aren't the first to mistake me for Tara (PrairieMom) and I think she may be having a Lexie. But don't quote me on that.

jacobsmama replied: Good luck to you hug.gif Being nurse at obgyn we have lots of patients who deliver with bicournate uterus. hug.gif

Kelly I was wondering if she new something we didnt? haha blush.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
Fat chance of that any time soon. LOL.

Edward's Mommy replied:
I have the same uterus you do. I have had only one pregnancy and it was extremely successful. I was in labor for 29 and 1/2 hours, that ended in a C-Section. But I haven't had any miscarriages. I hope everything works out for you!!
