TRIED to get rid of some old toys

MommyToAshley wrote: I was going through Ashley's toy boxes to get rid of some of the older toys like rattles and things that she hasn't played with in a long time. I was putting them in a crate and wouldn't you know that she sat down and played with the toys in the crate for 30 minutes. LOL! rolling_smile.gif

Also, when I went to change her diaper, I laid her down on the floor by the crate. She pulled out a Taz rattle and put it on her nosed and balanced it on her nose and giggled. rolling_smile.gif She's such a goof!

I guess I will have to wait until she's not around to box them up. I need to do something though, our family room is being overtaken by toys and they don't all fit in the crates anymore. We still haven't gotten her a toybox for downstairs yet. She has a bookshelf in her room for baskets that organize things nicely, but I need to do something for downstairs in the family room.

A&A'smommy replied: lol thats a girl for you!!!!

Heather replied: AWWW, isn't it so sad? Sounds like she found a treasure!!!

coasterqueen replied: I cleaned out Kylie's toys a few months ago and put them in a bag in her closet where I thought she couldn't get them. Well, she did and played with them. So now they are in her room and every time we go in there she plays with them. tongue.gif

So at least they aren't in the living room where ALL the other toys are. LOL. biggrin.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Claudia does that too. She is so funny. She found 2 rattle yesterday and was in heaven! They are so silly! laugh.gif

Jamison'smama replied: I put Jama's young baby toys in a bin in her closet and every once in a while I get it out and it is like a treasure chest--she plays and plays like they are her favorite toys. Guess I will keep them handy for a while. I understand about being taken over by toys--I have bins of toys in the office, a basket in the living room and family room, a basket in our room with books and quite toys, the bathroom has a basket of tub toys, the kitchen has a cupboard with some things in it--her room is full and this is not even counting the sun room that is entirely devoted to bigger toys..ball blaster, push and pull toys etc. YIKES!!!

I used to be so worried about the decor of the house, now there is not one room that does not have something bright and plastic in it somewhere!

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I have been needing to do this myself. We have a toy bin in the livingroom and the toys are starting to take up more and more space. Every once in a while I will see her playing with a rattle or her teething beeds, but usually she plays with her Care Bears or other stuffed animals. LOL!!!!! I just re-read your post. Ashley is doing palor tricks while getting her diaper changed. That is funny. wub.gif

amynicole21 replied: What a little clown!!! I think Sophia's favorite toys are still the ones she played with as a baby... I'll never be able to rid myself of them (sigh) rolleyes.gif

Mommieto2Girls replied: hehehe, I haven't gotten rid of any of Maddies toys yet either. I just today finnaly bought a stuffed animal netting thing. It goes in the corner of the wall and all the stuffed animals go in it. So now most of them are in that thing, and we are finaly getting some shelves up in her room. Her room looks so much more girly now. Now we just need to get more shelves up for the rest of her junk.... lol

MommyToAshley replied: Glad to hear I am not alone, I really need to do something or we are going to have to change our business to a Home Toy Store! LOL rolling_smile.gif

The family room has crates for the toys but they won't all fit in there anymore. I still have her walker in there because we pile toys on top of it...LOL

The living room has three shelves filled with toys, stuffed animals and books. Her table and chairs are in there for now and her wagon is also in there.

Her room is the only thing really organized with her toys and books.

Our bedroom still has her bassinette filled to the top with toys. In the morning, she comes in our room and climbs in bed and plays with her toys there.

Here's a picture of our family room, I am almost embarassed to post it except that you can't see all the toys she has all over the floor: rolling_smile.gif

chloe&tysmommy replied: aww what a cutie wub.gif

It's amazing how toys really start to accumulate(sp?)!!! We have the same problem here also, I definitely have to go shopping for a huge toy box soon rolling_smile.gif tongue.gif rolling_smile.gif

supermom replied: I crated up a box-full of toys a while back, and put them out in the garage, because at that time we were still TTC - but now I have to find room to get them back in for Emily - LOL

I can relate. I always used to wait until Anders was gone out of the house before I tried to clean up his toys. About three months ago, we had a garage sale, and before that I went thru all his toys and got rid of quite a few McDonald's Happy Meal toys and such.

Good luck....

coasterqueen replied:
You know every weekend I go to TRU or Walmart for something and I always forget to get one of those net things. LOL. She has dozens of stuffed animals that have taken over the fireplace hearth and have taken over areas of her bedroom. LOL. I REALLY need to remember to do this. rolling_smile.gif
