Symptoms

Char Lee wrote: Does anyone have any symptoms? I am very tired and have lots of heartburn. It seems like both of these are continuous. Someone told me that in the second trimester you are less tired. Has anyone else heard this? wub.gif

amynicole21 replied: Well, I'm not pregnant now, but I can tell you that while preg with my dd I was far less tired once I got into the second trimester. Then, the third trimester kicked my butt and I spent most of the time sleeping on the couch rolleyes.gif I hope you can kick the heartburn soon. I had that a lot during the end of my pregnancy - especially when I was trying to sleep. It was awful, and tums couldn't TOUCH it. Ugh.

Hope you feel better soon! smile.gif

jem0622 replied: Right now I'm a mess because of my progesterone. Dizzy and sleepy a lot. Honestly...with every pregnancy...and this is my fifth...I have been less tired. BUT I have had more braxton hicks contractions and they hurt and wear me out. Haven't had them yet thank goodness. I do enjoy my naps though! You definitely feel best during the second trimester. Just make sure to take your vitamins and drink plenty of fluids. Especially as the weather is heating up!

Edited to add that I get bloated from eating too many carbs. So I've been trying to go easy on them.

kit_kats_mom replied: The second trimester was WAY easier on me than any other part of my first pregnancy.

I'm back to outsleeping the cat this time. I've also had some real bangers of headaches which I rarely get and I've been pretty sea-sick a few times too. I've also noticed that I get tired way easier than before. With a toddler, that's not such great news. rolleyes.gif sad.gif My first pregnancy was easier than this one so far.

juliajaj replied: During my 1st pregnancy, I was sick & tired throughout the 1st trimester, felt great the 2nd trimester & was tired & achey (back, sciatic nerve, etc.) the 3rd trimester. So far, the second pregnancy has been similar, but I'm a lot more tired during the 3rd trimester & haven't been too achey. I asked my doctor about being so tired (more so than my 1st pregnancy) & he said this is very common. Each pregnancy takes a little bit more out of you & also it's harder for me to find time to rest since there's a toddler to take care of. He said to pay attention to my body & rest when I need to rest.

jen replied: i had awesome bursts of energy in the 2nd trimester, it was great and my house was immaculate LOL! the 3rd trimester I was miserable with back pain and heart burn which tums helped some!

coasterqueen replied: I know I wasn't as tired in the second as I was in the 1st and 3rd, but I felt like I pretty much slept my pg away. rolleyes.gif

If this happens the next time I'm pg or the tiredness gets worse, I'm in a LOAD of trouble. I have a spirited child and there is no way she'll let me sleep. wacko.gif

A&A'smommy replied: when I first got pregnant with my daughter I was SO tired ALL the time and I didn't really get heartburn until my second trimester and by the time I had her I could NOT have handled it getting worse it was horrible!

Char Lee replied: Thanks ladies for letting me know of all the symptoms. I feel if this is all I will get for symptoms then I would have another baby. It hasnt been that bad. The first few weeks were bad but now just heartburn which I take tums for. it does seem to help it. I dont think I am eating as much as I should but I eat when hungry or snack when not. I do have cravings for slurpees and cottage cheese. Two very good ones. rolleyes.gif

dolfinrse replied: rolling_smile.gif I craved slurpees towards the end of my pregnancy. DH thought I was crazy! wink.gif

maestra replied: Ms has set in here. Someone left something nasty in the fridge at work and it stinks! Everytime I walk in the lounge, it's all I can do to not vomit!

kimberley replied: the 2nd trimester for all of my pg's was the "honeymoon" phase! i was feeling less nauseous and in love with my growing belly. fatigue was gone and i felt good. but the honeymoon has to end sometimes lol. my experience in the 3rd tri has always been a lot of heartburn, difficulty sleeping, lots of braxton hicks, lower back pains and general discomfort. and don't worry about "eating for 2". some people think that means you have to eat twice as much and that is just not true. you just have to eat 3 healthy meals a day and maybe a couple of snacks throughout the day just like you normally would and be sure to take your prenatal vitamins. i know i had trouble eating with my second son. everything turned me off. and he was very strong and healthy.

Char Lee replied: Thanks Kimberly, that helps. I cant wait for the U/S because it may say I am further along than what the doctor says. See for two months before getting the positive test I was just spotting. The last time I was pregnant (But lost it) I was a very faint positive at 6 wks. This time it was very clear. The waiting game is so hard. On the long weekend I will try to find a good time to tell one of my brothers. He will understand and give me a little emotional support.
