Swelling and rings?

MyLuvBugs wrote: Ok PG ladies. biggrin.gif So, when did your swelling get to the point that you couldn't wear your wedding rings anymore?

I'm just curious. With my first I was almost 9 months before I had to start wearing them on a necklace. I think I was around 34-35 weeks. This time, they're already getting snug! unsure.gif

lisar replied: I was at about 30 wks I took them off. I hated not having them on. I put them on a necklace and wore them that way.

JP&KJMOM replied: Never took mine off with DS but they came off about 7 months with my DD.

Cece00 replied: I've only had occasional swelling that made me remove the rings...but then again, my rings were slightly loose before I got pregnant. Hopefully I wont have to remove them this time.

PrairieMom replied: My swelling started at 24 weeks, but I made it till about 30 before I wouldn't wear my rings anymore. DH bought me a cheep-o replacement to wear for a while, but I had to stop wearing that one at about 36 weeks. i can't fit back into any of them yet.

booey2 replied: I was lucky I wore my wedding band all the way thru both pregnancies and delivery, my engagement ring is another story, not sure when that came off it was over 5 and 8 years ago now. blush.gif

ZandersMama replied: i was only about 20 weeks but then i wore them on a necklace. I hated not having them on, nurses were rude to me( I was only 20 when i got married and 21 when i had my son but i look around 15) They would talk about being a single mom so young and stuff when they would come in to check my vitals. I wa slike hey im legal age and married just to fat to wear my rings. And even if i was 15 what differance is it to them, or buisness really. I got alot of nasty comments in the hospital, enough that i would like to have a homebirth this time.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I never had to take my rings off. I had very little swelling.

mckayleesmom replied: Mine were the opposite with both pregnancies...I never swoll anywhere and my fingers shrunk. I finally took them off because I almost lost one one time.

KingMom replied: I took them off last time, but not sure when, it was close to the due date.

This time, b/c of the heat in the past week, I have had trouble putting them on or getting them off in the evening. I've opted this week to just not put them on in the morning! I don't need anything else making me feel fatter wink.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I'm like Brianne, sometimes I have to be careful my ring doesn't fall off. Sorry.

luvmykids replied: Considering my ring is 2 sizes too big and I wrap a band aid around it to make it fit, I didn't have to take it off rolling_smile.gif I guess I'm a little too lazy if I've had it for this long and never gotten it sized blush.gif

Brias3 replied: Never ended up getting to the point where I needed them off entirely but boy, were they snug! It felt like I was constantly eating tons of salt laugh.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: My fingers never swelled when I was PG - just my ankles & feet.

Mommy2Isabella replied: I still have on my wedding ring and my engagement ring! They get a LITTLE snug when it gets HOT and I swell everywhere ... but no permanent take off for me ... I don't know what I would do! I fell NAKED without them.

kit_kats_mom replied: I'm not pg but I was about 7 mos with K and I never took them off. I still can't get the wedding ring off to this day. I swear my fingers have grown around it. blush.gif
