Survivorman

Danalana wrote: Do any of you watch it? I recently started, and I love it!
However, if I had to do most of the things he does, I think I would go ahead and beat my head against something hard because I would NOT survive baby.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I watch it...and like most of it, but I can't stand the way that man eats......I want to write a letter to him and tell him to shut his dang mouth when he chews......Do we lose our manners in the wild or what? laugh.gif

Seriously it makes me cringe to watch him eat.

I prefer Man Vs's Wild......That guy is so yummy!!... wub.gif

Danalana replied: OH, I hate the way he eats too! Eating issues are huge pet peeves for me wacko.gif

Calimama replied:
HA wait until you have that little boy. Miabella is currently "sharing" chewed up bits of her dinner by trying to shove it in my mouth with her spoon. wink.gif

PrairieMom replied:
You prefer the way Bear eats to the way survivor man eats? huh.gif At least Les doesn't describe what it tastes like in all the gory details. I prefer to LOOK at Bear, but I think that les could take him any day in a head to head survive off. laugh.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Its not WHAT he eats...or even the discription....Its the SOUND....makes me cringe.

Danalana replied: Hehe, I know babies do gross things with their food...I don't mind that. I just hate it when grown people can't eat without making noises. Did I mention that I also hate how he drinks? He makes this loud noise when he swallows--just like DH! Richard said, "See, I'm not the only one!" wacko.gif I really hate it.
BUT, I love the rest of the show so much that I still watch it smile.gif

Brias3 replied: I prefer Man vs. Wild too, but the things both of them do shock me! Sometimes I get so grossed out, I figure I must only watch it because once I start, I can't walk away from it! It's interesting, but definitely....strange.

Danalana replied: I think a lot of it's useful. Last night, he was talking about why a lot of people die after they get lost. Instead of making a shelter of some kind and just stopping where they are, they think they can take off and find a road around the next corner. Or that they can't be too far from where they started. So they start walking and just get more and more lost. See, I would do that. But now I know to make a shelter and then devise a plan.

grapfruit replied: You guys like Man vs Wild BETTER??? Even though he makes unnecessary risks that if "normal" people followed in the wild they'd probably die from??? AND he has a camera crew w/him....

I like Survivorman better, even w/the gross food chewing happy.gif

Danalana replied: Yes! I've decided to just mute it when he is drinking or eating laugh.gif

PrairieMom replied:
I love Bear. he is such an idiot. rolleyes.gif
"I could go around this gulch, but I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF TIME!!! so I will run down it, and break my leg at the bottom so I can slowly die AND be in pain!!!" rolleyes.gif WTH ? Good grief. He takes so many unnecessary risks, and doesn't really "do" it.
At least les is authentic. dry.gif I would way prefer to watch Bear tho. Hubba hubba.

bawoodsmall replied: I have never seen survivorman but man vs wild is just too much for me with emily. I am still trying to not let her see someone eat a bear when she knows it is a bear. kwim? Does anyone understand me or am I not making sense?

jacobsmama replied: laugh.gif You Guys crack me up!!! DH watches both of these, well actually DVR"s them so we can watch them all dry.gif LOL, Not a huge fan of either. I think the things they eat and do are Nasty!! LOL But DH loves it. blush.gif

Danalana replied: It is nasty, but I love it emlaugh.gif

jacobsmama replied:
lol laugh.gif rolling_smile.gif

Danalana replied: One time, he hollowed out a camel and then slept in the carcass for warmth/shelter. That's definitely not something I would think of...heck, I don't think I could do it if I DID think of it.

grapfruit replied:
Pff! He got that from Star Wars! rolling_smile.gif

Danalana replied: Really? I never watch any of the Star Wars, so i had never seen it.

grapfruit replied: LoL, in the Empire Strikes Back (2nd of the "originals", 5th in the series I believe) Luke is out on this cold planet (can't remember, guys help me out, it's been awhile since I've seen this one). And it's like super cold. So he kills his equivlant to a camel and crawls inside to stay warm. It's really gooey and gross looking. smile.gif I bet I could find a clip of it on You Tube or something.

Dana do you have HBO. They are ALWAYS playing Star Wars on there.

Danalana replied: Nope, I don't believe we do. We have DirectTv and PPV, but no movie channels...or maybe we do! I jusr don't know how I could sit through it. Casey, come on with that clip!

PrairieMom replied:
WTH!? how can you live your life never having seen SW? That is the strangest thing I have ever heard. huh.gif I didn't even think it was possible. laugh.gif I am married to a computer nerd supreme tho, so maybe that has something to do with it. We have the trilogy on both VCR and DVD. rolleyes.gif

Danalana replied: I've never seen E.T. either!

Star Wars just isn't my thing, but I don't know how I missed E.T.

grapfruit replied:
LoL! I'm working on it! Promise! smile.gif

Danalana replied: Still waiting patiently....
wink.gif

jcc64 replied: Dh and the boys were die-hard Man v Wild fans until they found out that he occasionally sleeps in a hotel and not out in the wilderness as is pictured on the show. I think my oldest ds kind of idolized him until that point, and I think it was a major disappointment for him to find out it wasn't all "real".

PrairieMom replied: I was watching a newer episode and Bear said "this is how you build a shelter, I won't be staying in it, but this is how you can make one if you need to. " rolling_smile.gif I guess now that he has been Outted he has to fess up to that part. rolleyes.gif

Did you guys see the one where he had to drink his own urine so he wouldn't get dehydrated, then it down poured on him a few hours later? rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

Danalana replied: Mmmmmmmmmm...urine

jcc64 replied: Urine figures into every episode I've seen. He's either drinking it or using it in a "hot water bottle" to keep himself warm. We call him "Peepee man".

grapfruit replied:
*sigh* I can't find that specific clip! I can't believe I can't find the clip!! I'll ask Tim if there's another way to get it biggrin.gif B/c I know you're DYING to see Luke crawl inside of a freaky animal. laugh.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
HOTH!!

Danalana replied:
Heck yes! But I'm starting to lose hope...

grapfruit replied: Ok, it's RIGHT after this scene:

I'm looking I swear!
