Surprises
booey2 wrote: This just struck me as I read LeaAnne's message about her surprise for her DH.
booey2 replied: I can't stand them. DH tried to surprise me for my 35th and it backfired. To start the restaurant called to confirm the reservation for 6 people and I answered the phone. Secondly he parked the car and I could see whose cars were already there and thirdly I really didn't want to spend my birthday with my mom.(we were having issuses at the time and weren't really getting along). DH on the other hand loves to be surprised and I don't have the time or energy to plan one. Well maybe in ten years time when he turns 50 and Thomas is 13 I will have more time on my hands to plan one.
mammag replied: I would love for someone to throw me a surprise party. Never happened though so maybe I'd feel different if I was caught too unaware....
coasterqueen replied: I guess I'd like one, although never had one, lol. I like surprises in general and wish DH would do more of them.
Sunflower04 replied: I like surprises as long as I don't found out part of the surprise.
MommyToAshley replied: Surprises are fun, but I hate when someone tells me they have a surprise and then leaves me guessing. I don't have the patience for surprises and it drives me battly. LOL! DH does this to me all the time!
Lynda836 replied: Love surprises...as long as people don't do something to embarrass me in the process. And I'm so gullable most of the time....so that it makes it easy to surprse me. I get such a kick over people's rxn that they were able to pull one over on me...I think that's half the fun of surprises
Now planning them...that's a different story. I'm not good at that...I'm always worried that it'll fall flat.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: My favorite 2 birthdays involved surprises. When I turned 13, my two best friends planned and executed a surprise party for me. It was even more special because I had to move to New Jersey at the end of that summer. Then, just this year, my DH planned a surprise dinner out with 6 of our best friends for my 29th birthday. Wee, so much fun.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm the same way! I am not a patient person. But I do like surprises - I always seem to ruin them somehow though by finding out and then I feel bad.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I like surprises...but I hate suspense. So I would rather not know until the exact moment of the surprise. I've had a surprise party once and I almost started crying. I don't really like being the center of attention, but it was really nice to know everyone was planning something so nice for me.
NummyMommy replied: I think it depends on the surprize...I wouldn't like spending an evening with someone I'm not getting along with either (especially if I'm related to them ) but a surprize that shows the person really thought about what I like would be much appreciated. However if someone tried and failed (something husbands do a lot it seems) I'd put on a brave face and try to be polite about it. To me its just like getting a gift I hate....its the thought that counts (so I graciously say thank you) but I don't have to wear it! (why do people think I look good in baby poop yellow??)
booey2 replied: I totally agree and that is what I did for DH's:love2: sake cuz he did really try. I was all smiles and acted surprised even tho I knew what was going on. It was only 6 of us so it wasn't that big of a group.
luvbug00 replied: I likem when they are romatic but otherwise I hate them.
mckayleesmom replied: I love suprises...but its rare because usually I figure them out
NummyMommy replied: I figured by your post that ya did booey hope you didnt think I thunk otherwise
booey2 replied: Nope, I knew that is what you was thinking.
kimberley replied: i like surprises tho they don't often happen. i don't like suspense either
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I like surprises, but like Dee Dee get batty if I know when is coming. I would rather not know about it. My Mom threw me a surprise party for my 21st birthday. I had no idea. I was at work and my boss said I can go when I usually stay until she was done. I get home and there are tons of cars parked around the house. That night was fun.
A&A'smommy replied: I love em but dh doesn't do well with surprises he can't keep a secret!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I like them as long as I dont know about them. true suprises are fun, but if they tease you it becomes annoying and no fun
3xsthefun replied: I like suprises long as I don't know that there is a suprise. My hubby is really bad about keeping suprises too. He wants to tell me whenever he gets me something and wants it be a suprise.
jacobsmama replied: I love em too....but I'm always the one suprising people I would also like to be suprised with a GOOD suprise once in a while haha LOL
redchief replied: Hate em. Messes up my schedule; invariably.
