Super Nanny - Did anyone watch it

lisar wrote: I have never been so mad at another set of parents till lastnight. I actually cried watching that show. I was so darn mad. It broke my heart to see those girls like that. You could see in the 17 year olds face that something major was wrong there. I was just so mad.

Did anyone else watch it?

my2monkeyboys replied: I did. I think it was not right of the parents to leave the girls to sit the kids all day and then expect them to clean the house and help with them at night, too.
I don't know how they couldn't see that their older daughter was apparently not doing well.
At the very least they needed a sitter all day for the boys, and then have the girls do a fair amount of chores and still have free time to go out with friends.
It seemed really overloaded on the girls side... sad.gif

mummy2girls replied: Yes i was ready to throw somethingat the tv, I was crying seeing these girls do what they had too.... i kept saying get a daycare or nanny and let those girls go to school... They are not live in nannies for petes sake. i get stressed so much at my job so i can imagine what a 14 and 17 yr old is feeling waaay worse of stress... NOT GOOD!

luvmykids replied: I saw it, and like you guys was so mad growl.gif It was really sad when the nanny left and the girls said the parents just put on an act for the camera sleep.gif

stella6979 replied: Yep, I saw this episode awhlie ago and it really ticked me off! Having the kids help out is one thing, but why even have kids if you don't plan on raising them yourself? It makes me sad for them. sad.gif

lisar replied:
Ya know thats what I worry about it. That they did just put an act on for the camera, and after the camera left they went back to the old days. I think the Dad understood more than the Mom. She acted as if she didnt care anyways. And the update of the girls no offence but the 17 year old looked all pale again and sick. I was heartbroken.

mckayleesmom replied: I want to watch it...but I can't find it anywhere.

My2Beauties replied: that was a re-run, I saw that episode and I was PO'd at those parents. It was horrible how they did those kids.

mckayleesmom replied: After the show people all over the world apparently called child protective services and the family has been recieving death threats....

skinkybaby replied: I missed it! What was the deal? Sounds bad!

mckayleesmom replied: I found this....This is a friend of the mom's site or something....http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977219670

Here is the thing...some of what she says might be true...it was editing..etc....However...all the comments are in support of the Chapman family, then further down you read that this "friend" of hers is screaning the comments and only putting good ones up....So people can't even be honest if they comment..they have to support her or their comment doesn't get posted.

stella6979 replied:
Well they had 5 kids and the 14 and 17 year old girls were in charge of taking care of the younger boys ALL THE TIME. They were enrolled in an online High School, but weren't doing very well cause they were with the boys all day long. The oldest girl was so exhausted that she ended up fainting and had to be taken to the ER.

skinkybaby replied: Oh my gosh, that is awful!

Boo&BugsMom replied: Troy and I watched this one together the first time it aired. I was SO livid! Editing or not, what was on the show DID occur and was real regardless of editing. Those two girls should not have to endure THAT much responsibility so young in life. The thing that ticked me off the most, aside from the obvious, was that the reasoning the parents enrolled them in online school was so they could be home to watch the younger ones. blink.gif That is not right! Homeschool for the right reasons, not so your children can be babysitters! growl.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: I wanted to hit both of those parents into reality
I never seen two most lazy ppl. in my life as those two parents
