Stupid football

PrairieMom wrote: Anyone going to watch the game? This will be the first superbowl party I have gone to in nearly 10 years. I usually work on game day. No excuses this year. dry.gif rolleyes.gif So, it wont kill me to go out and socialize, and I am really looking forward to the food, but man, I would rather rip my own arm off and beat myself to death with it than watch that darn game. Like, literally. laugh.gif
I am making M&M cookies to bring to the party, and will have some left over cupcakes to throw in, plus I am making this buffalo chicken dip I saw On Rachel Ray that I am dying to try.
I will probably just spend the whole time standing in the kitchen shoving food into my face. tongue.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: See my avatar <------- and tell me what you think??!! tongue.gif

amymom replied: I am with you Tara. My husband watches football ALL the time. Any sport for that matter. But I have not ever gone to a Super Bowl party. You should have a good time with just the food you are bringing. I can't wait to hear what else will be there.

MommyToAshley replied: Hey Tara, maybe you could watch the commercials and make the food trip to the kitchen during the game. emlaugh.gif Last year, I won the free tickets to Universal Studios from a commercial they had... maybe they'll do something like that again.

stella6979 replied: I'm not a crazy football fan but I do like to gamble so I usually buy some squares to make the game more interesting for me. Jeff has talked me into throwing a superbowl party this year so we will have about 15 soldiers plus their wives at our house which means most of today will be spent in the kitchen preparing all the yummy food!

mom21kid2dogs replied: Although I consider pro football the equivalent of overpaid babysitting, I am going to watch this year"s Super Bowl. Generally, I scrap and have Stephen call me in for the commercials only rolling_smile.gif . I'm pretty excited for the Saints and am hoping for a good game. thumb.gif Love college & high school football, though.

Insanemomof3 replied: I will be watching. Although my team didn't make it (Poor vikings). I am hoping the colts win. Peyton Manning is my second fav QB. smile.gif

PrairieMom replied:
I am SO relieved the vikings didn't make it. We are all huge vikings fans in this area. Its the closest thing we have to a local team. The whole game would be that much more stressful if the vikings were playing.

bluebear replied: I was originally off tomorrow from work. I BEGGED to work tomorrow so I won't have to deal with the football game. Luckily it's my coworker's birthday so I'm covering for her while she gets wreckless tonight. biggrin.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
We're really bummed the Vikings didn't make it! It would have been stressful, but it would have been awesome too! tongue.gif That game between them and the Saints was pretty awful to watch. I'm not even really a big football watcher... I'm usually bored to death watching it. rolleyes.gif But I've recently decided that if I can't beat 'em, I may as well join 'em and start watching it instead of sitting by myself while everyone else is watching the game. tongue.gif It still helps to have a good book along though.

Danalana replied: Oh, heck yes, BABY!!!
COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS

I LOVE football and the COLTS are my favorite team...have been for a few years now. I am so pumped! We normally have football parties at our house, but we are going to a friend's house this time. Pizza, cheesecake, good football, good friends....THE COLTS...what more could you ask for?????

My3LilMonkeys replied: We are BIG football fans, so I will definitely be watching the game!!!! I have no preference for either team so I'm hoping for a really close, exciting game. thumb.gif

msoulz replied:
OH yeah, that's what it's all about!!! happy.gif Another day of pigging out. And commercials. tongue.gif

We have another family joining us today so we can all pig out together. It's a tradition!

MoonMama replied: I have NO interest what so ever, but someone is dragging me to a super bowl party too.... rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

moped replied: And lets not forget that Desperate Housewives may not be on or may be late coming on!!!!

Not a sports fan....... tongue.gif

MoonMama replied:
I know! I just saw that it didn't DVR and was like GRRRRRRR!!!! soapbox.gif soapbox.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I had a ticket to a show tonight with a friend of mine...so I didn't watch it. But my boyfriend is a huge football fan.. watches it ALL THE TIME.. i watch it with him now and then, but usually i do my own thing when it's on..

anyway i thought it was really sweet that he said he couldn't wait for updates from the show (I didn't really want to go, it was an amateur performer thing) and he spent the entire game texting back and forth with me... and that he'd rather be at the crappy show with me than be watching the superbowl without me.

Next year we're throwing a superbowl party.

coasterqueen replied: Thank goodness my husband is not a football fan! I grew up with football fans, but never really liked it much. We had the game on yesterday and watched it when we could, but paid more attention to our children than the game. We don't go to Super Bowl parties since having kids because most of our friends are "part-time" parents and so there are never any kids at the parties. happy.gif

Cece00 replied: I'm not a sports fan but this year (being from LA and all, and DH used to live in NOLA and had stores there during the first few yrs of our marriage & we used to spend a lot of time there....we also married there. wub.gif ) it was really exciting. Granted, I didnt really watch til the NFC game but we threw an awesome Superbowl party and of course the SAINTS won!!!
