Strep

So now I'm on antibiotics. I called Annika's Pedi office to see waht the odds were of her getting it. They said she should be fine because babies under a year weren't suseptible (sp?) to strep. So now I"m washing my hands every 5 minutes and hoping like heck they are right.

Last night DH got home at about 9 from work. He's about helpless sometimes. I'm not even going to go there because I"ll just get mad again.

So that's what is what for this week.

luvmykids replied: Oh poor you I had strep ALL THE TIME when I was in high school, it's pure misery. Hope you feel better soon and that DH can get his act together to help you

kimberley replied: oh no! strep sucks! i hope you feel better soon! and don't stop taking your antibiotics until the scrip is done. take it from a person who has had chronic strep thru teens and twenties.. it will come right back.

CantWait replied: Seriously, I don't thing there's anything worse then strep. I'd rather have the flu. As Kimberley said, make sure you completely finish your antibiotic. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I swear I have it nearly chronically come wintertime. I usually catch it about 3-4 times per season. I should have had my tonsils out as a child but my doctor always explained it was a catch 22 in my case- more bacteria can float down your throat (tonsils catch harmful bacteria) if they're removed, but if they're not, bacteria will breed ON them. Therefore, I think I'm doomed to get it either way, I don't know what it is!

I'm surprised you still have to work - strep is pretty contagious until you've been on the antibiotic for 24 hours.
