Spinoff of "what I heard on the radio" thread

Celestrina wrote: I work at a store similar to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Some people will try to switch pillows by putting an expensive one in a cheap pillow's bag and vice versa, thinking we scan the bag. Therefore they would be getting an expensive pillow (close to or over $100) for the price of a cheap one (less than $15). When we scan the tag on the pillow, they try pitching a fit saying "the sign said it is $13". The last time this happened the cashier called me to check it out. The pillow that should have been in the bag has a pink stripe around the seam. When I explained this to the customer, they said "oh, sorry. I wanted the cheap one." Like we wouldn't know she was the one who switched it. dry.gif

luvmykids replied: Good grief, some people will do anything to get what they want rolleyes.gif They should be embarrassed laugh.gif

sparkys2boys replied: I cant imagine doing something like that.. geeesh thats terrible ohmy.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: huh.gif Wow.

Crystalina replied: I would never never never! Karma...it scares me. unsure.gif

One day DH and I found a folded up $10 at Wal-Mart. We looked around and no one seemed to be looking for it. I lingered in the area for awhile and looked for anyone who may look like they were looking for it. All we could think was what if it was little kids birthday money or a moms only $10 to buy baby diapers or food. sad.gif We did not return it to the front because it was summer and there were a lot of younger kids working at the time and I assumed it would disappear into someones pocket. So DH put it in his wallet and we gave it to the Little league (outside the same Wal-Mart) the next week. The same $10 bill. We didn't dare spend it because if anything bad happened to us we would think it was because we spent that bill. emlaugh.gif

MoonMama replied: Geez. mad.gif

lisar replied: I am not gona try something like that. First off its embarasing if you get caught. And its stealing....

Celestrina replied: What's sad is that we have to scan the expensive pillow's tags as well, just in case someone got away with the switch. We can't have a customer pay $80 for a $13 pillow.

luvmykids replied:
Didn't even think of that side of it, if I thought I was buying an $80 pillow and got the $13 one I'd be ticked dry.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: oh the things people will do, sad huh?

HuskerMom replied: When I worked at shopko in highschool we had people that would put their old shoes in the shoe box and steal the new ones wearing them right out the store. I hated opening a box and finding old dirty shoes.

But I'm not surprised no one noticed, how often do you really pay attention to peoples shoes?

Calimama replied: Pathetic. blink.gif
