Spinoff: correct terminology

3_call_me_mama wrote: Reading through the correct terminology posts got me thinking, especially when someone mentioned boobie. Do you use the correct terms for breasts? I hear a lot of people say "boobie" or "boobs" to their kids and I always wondered about it. I say breast and always have I guess, but Kathleen calls them "Milkys" (mainly cause that is what she said when she wanted to nurse.) So I was curious as to what you refer to them as? (we have a friend that calls them her "pillows" and will not say breast EVER! She's 52!)

Edited cause i can't spell

PrairieMom replied: The Boy calls them my Boo Boo's. rolleyes.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: We use the correct term for all the body parts! It was actually quite funny, Claudia told her grandmother that she had a penis! laugh.gif My poor MIL, she corrected her, but I bet she was quite embarassed! laugh.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: We always so boobs.. I know some people hate it..but it's the best I can come up with. I hate the T word though!

3_call_me_mama replied:
OH that drives me NUTS too.. We have a friend who thought it would be hilarious to teach their baby/toddler to say "ti&&ies" when he was about 8 months old. well it wasn't quite so funny when he said to the grocery clerk at 2 years old " i see ti&&ies in your shirt!" ohmy.gif

CantWait replied: You know I never thought of that, but we do use booby's here and not breasts. If I was speaking to Robbie though, I'd use the correct term.

amynicole21 replied: Nope - they are my "nurses" tongue.gif

Cece00 replied: We use the correct terms for everything.

paradisemommy replied: nope always been mum mum's

Nina J replied: I refer to them as breasts, or boobs. Emily will sit on my lap sometimes and rest her head on one of my breasts, she's told me they're nice pillows emlaugh.gif

Breasts is the correct term, but boobs seems just as normal to me, KWIM?

My2Beauties replied: No, we say boobs or boobies blush.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied:
That would be me! biggrin.gif Ha ha.

I haven't actually told Tanner what they are. What is funny is that he happened to mention the word one day while rhyming (he's big into rhyming words, however the other day he tried rhyming with the word sucker... mad.gif ). He was rhyming with some word and the word boobie came out. He had no idea what it was but I told him he shouldn't be saying it over and over. While trying to get him to stop saying it repeatedly, I happen to stumble upon a book about a bird called a boobie, thinking if he knew it was a boring bird, he wouldn't care. I was wrong! I had to just let him run out of his "boobie" stage himself.

He asked me recently what they are and I told him it's mommy's chest. He knows what nipples are and knows everyone has those. We call those just nipples. He asked one day after he noticed his and his fathers. laugh.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Yes, our girls are told when they ask. They do not make a big scene of it though. They are called breasts. They also know that there are nipples and areolas.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Never really thought about it...and I can't even think of it now... but I remember that the other day when Naomie ws pinching it wiht her fingers while nursing, Emilie said saomething like "Naomie's pinching your milk" or somethin glike that...
