Spin off of egg post - What is the weirdest thing you eat
My2Beauties wrote: OK everyone has one, what is the weirdest thing you eat? I saw eggs with sour cream on there, I found that surprising, never heard of that combo. LOL! I do a couple of weird things.
It's a Kentucky thing, but I always always eat a peanut butter sandwich with my chili and I dip the sandwich in my chili
I eat Tomato Sauce and noodles, not Spaghetti Sauce mind you, pure tomato sauce.
I love Hominy....anyone like Hominy?
I also love Cranberry Sauce, the type where you have to smack the crap out of the bottom of the can before it comes out, or put a hole in the underside of it and it just drops out whole and you cut it....best thing on Thanksgiving if you ask me!
Lots of people say the last 2 are weird because no one really likes those things....who is in agreement with me.
Our Lil' Family replied: NEVER heard of PB with chili!!
I've eaten a banana and mayo sandwich or two in my life. Did it more when I was younger though....it's yummy!
jcc64 replied: Pickles and ketchup. Started when I was pg. You do it all the time on hamburgers, so really, it's not all that weird. We eat a lot of weird Korean food- dehydrated squid with sweet hot pepper sauce, black bean paste and buckwheat noodles, kimchee (literally, sour, fermented cabbage with garlic and VERY hot pepper sauce that my m-i-l buries in her backyard in clay pots), and so on. We don't eat like that all the time, but when we get together for b-days, holidays, etc...
kimberley replied: everything i eat is weird to someone lol
KFC macaroni salad with gravy minestrone soup with hot sauce hp sauce with eggs spaghetti with eggs, cheese and ham blood pudding rice and eggs and most of the authentic filipino/chinese food i eat
gr33n3y3z replied: clam eyes eels - winter only any sea food that moves I eat it just about
PrairieMom replied: I LOVE mashing up boiled potatoes and mixing it with sour kraut and butter. YUMM! its my comfort food. I crave it most when I am sick.
Calimama replied: Pancit.. it's not really weird but it's not something a lot of people have tried.
luvmykids replied: It's BIG around here, only we call it posole and eat it with shredded pork and hot-as-you-can-stand-it red chili.
I like pickles and mustard on my bbq sandwiches.
I can eat a whole jar of green olives as a snack, while I'm watching a movie or something.
And I make a Polish dish sort of like Jeanne mentioned, called Zuer. It's seriously rotten cabbage soup with sliced hard boiled eggs and sausage. It sounds terrible but it's really good.
coasterqueen replied: Braunswager (Sp?) - liver sausage. I love that stuff
holley79 replied: I havne't eaten anything weird in a long time. I do love canned cranberry jelly stuff though.
jcc64 replied: Clam eyes, Lisa????????????
My3LilMonkeys replied: It's not weird to me since we've been eating it all my life - and it's one of my favorite foods - but I LOVE squirrel. My dad hunts them so I usually only get it a few times a year.
I am also obsessed with hickory nut cake - best food EVER. I could eat the whole cake myself.
Anthony275 replied: i put slices of cheese on my steak and melt it
gr33n3y3z replied: OMG I like doing that also yummmm
gr33n3y3z replied: yes its what we call them Its a surf clam but its eating actually the Bi-Valve muscle we eat those raw
PrairieMom replied: awesome! I thought I was the only freak!
DillsMommy replied: I dip my grilled cheese in ketchup.
stella6979 replied: I don't think I eat anything too weird, but I do love to dip peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in milk. There's just something about milk soaked bread that is soooooo good. Also, when I have a little sweet tooth, I'll put 5 or 6 oreos in a bowl and fill it with milk. I just love when the oreos get all soggy. I call it oreo soup.
PrairieMom replied: Isn't that the way Everyone eats grilled cheese ?
Calimama replied: Um.. NO!
Oh I thought of another one! I like cheddar cheese on Ruffles potato chips. I don't eat it a lot though because those chips are horrible for you.
ZandersMama replied: cheese and pep pizza dipped in ranch salad dressing.......mmmmmmmmmmm
My2Beauties replied: OK so no one, even my Kentucky friends, has heard of the PB with chili?? Come on guys...I know my fellow Kentuckians have heard of this. Only place I've ever been in the entire world where people eat it.
Danalana replied: I love cranberry sauce, too. I don't think that's weird at all! I don't like hominy, though...yuk! I love mashed potatoes with A-1 or ketchup in them....or Heinz 57. Pinto beans with ketchup. I also love honey with cubed cheese...now that's some yummy stuff! I can't think of all the weird things I like at the moment. Maybe I will think of some later...
moped replied: I eat pickled Hering
liver paste - yes paste, not pate
PB and banana sandwiches
I dip my pizza in salad dressing - like ranch or something
DillsMommy replied: Me! I do that too. Something about the sweet PB and spicy chili thats sooo good!
I didn't realize other people dipped grilled cheese in ketchup. I thought it was just something weird I did. lol.
Danalana replied: I haven't tried grilled cheese with ketchup, but those are two of my FAVORITE things. I'll have to try it, but I usually have tomato soup with my grilled cheese.
PrairieMom replied: I told Dh about this post, and he agrees that ketchup with grilled cheese is perfectly normal. He also informed me that kraut and potatoes is not the strangest thing i eat, its stale cookies. I will buy a pack of cookies and leave them open for about a week then eat them. I prefer them soft, not crunchy. I also prefer stale marshmallows. Whats so strange about that?
DillsMommy replied: Well darn, I guess there is really nothing "weird" that I eat then. I'm still trying to think of something...
Danalana replied: Awww, mandy! Don't lose heart. What if I told you that you are just a weird person, overall? Would that help?
DillsMommy replied: Aww, that helps. Thanks Dana. Guess I got everybody beat now....
HuskerMom replied: I like grilled cheese with ketchup too. I eat cheerios with orange juice instead of milk sometimes.
Danalana replied: I'm here to help!
TheOaf66 replied: well I am sure Jennie will pipe in with my peanut butter and mayo sandwiches so I will beat her to it
We put tostitos in our mac n cheese
I dip summer sausage into chip dip
DillsMommy replied: I put chips on my salami sandwich........
Danalana replied: My mother puts mayonnaise on jello...I think she gets to be the winner
PrairieMom replied: Freak!!!
PrairieMom replied: growing up I used to eat jelly and cheese sandwiches. I also liked to dip potato chips into powdered nestle quick. Now people eat chocolate covered potato chips all the time, so I guess I was on to something.
grapfruit replied: Yumm! Pretty much anything crunchy is good on a lunch meat sandwich.
TheOaf66 replied: me too Tara...I also like to do this with chips
My2Beauties replied: Something I still do to this day that I did a lot as a kid was eat plain just bread with mayo or Miracle Whip on it
TheOaf66 replied: I did that and my dad would yell at me to put "something" in the bread
MotherForever2043 replied: Peanut Butter and Cheese Sandwich
Pickles and Cheese
Liver..in a nice sauce (I only like it the way I make though )
Yes, I know...I'm coo coo
lovemykiddies replied: Honestly, I can't think of a darn thing. I'm a very picky eater.
I like canned, un-sweetened pumpkin.
No offense, but pretty much everything people listed here sounds disgusting to me. Never!
A&A'smommy replied: I put A1 sauce on sliced up cheddar cheese
I like to put Parmesan cheese on my popcorn
I dip almost everything in ranch dressing (hot dogs, corn dogs, pizza)
one of my favorite sandwiches is Sara lee honey white bread, with A1 on one piece and ranch on the other, sliced fresh tomato on both sides and thick sliced cheddar cheese in the middle with Mustard in between the cheese and tomato. DELICIOUS
I also like to dip my bacon in mustard
momofone replied: thats exactly what i do with the cookies thats funny
MommyToAshley replied: no pb&j with chili here.. lol no clam eyes or any other seafood here either. And, I will skip the cranberry sauce too.
I guess I am pretty normal eater. LOL
Ashley, however, is more adventous... she loves shrimp, crab legs, spinach dip.. the other day she ate calamari and loved it
DillsMommy replied: Okay guys, I thought of something. My grandma used to make this for me all the time as a kid and it's SO good. Peanutbutter and butter sandwich. That's "weird", right?
Anthony275 replied: that's not weird
hoosier momma replied: Peanut butter with chili is common in my area of Indiana also, but not 20 minutes away in Indianapolis. That is the only way to eat chili around here.
Try a grilled PB sandwich with pickles on it- that's yummy
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Yuck, yuck, yuck you guys! Especially the mayo on jello?! YUCK! I hate mayo period, so having it on anything is just gross IMO. Ketchup with grilled cheese is probably the only thing listed that doesn't really bother me, and maybe clam eyes since I will eat just about any kind of seafood, even raw. I love sushi, so I know a majority of people will find that weird. I love raw oysters! I've also had some of the delicacies like duck pate, quail eggs, escargot and frog legs. We eat a lot of bison and other gamey meats here in CO, which some people find weird. But nothing really stands out for me - as in the combo mixtures you all mentioned! I do like PB and bananas though. Plus I sprinkle salt on my apples.
Boo&BugsMom replied: That was me!!! I never knew it would taste good until I ordered am omlette at Perkins one day and noticed it came with sour cream. Tried it, and loved it!
I also dip chips into mac and cheese
Troy eats mayo and PBJ sandwiches.
Boo&BugsMom replied: ME TOO! My cookies have to be soaked in milk when I eat them! I like them all soggy and mushy.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Oh, I eat PBJ sandwiches with my chili!!!!! I don't dip it though.
Danalana replied: ooooh, I missed the sour cream and eggs. I LOVE that. I love it better with sour cream and salsa. I like making or ordering omelettes and then topping them with both...YUM!
Boo&BugsMom replied: Nope, not weird. Well, it's not conventional, but it's definitly not weird.
Katrinadoodle replied: Kosher Dill hamburger pickles, and spicy Dijon mustard on white bread (like, a sandwich)
Mmm, I don't think it's weird but everyone else does
PrairieMom replied: Tell me that is a pregnancy thing...
Danalana replied: This thread is making me SO hungry
PrairieMom replied:
Boo&BugsMom replied:
Tara, she is pregnant so I"m sure all food sounds good to Dana.
PrairieMom replied: yeah... even pregos, I wouldn't try 1/2 this stuff.
Danalana replied: Lol, a lot of it sounds good to me! The last one about dijon mustard and pickles on white bread sounds YUM!
PrairieMom replied:
Katrinadoodle replied: LOL nope, that's been my favorite food for years
Danalana replied: Ha, my mouth is still watering about this, and I just got back from eating lunch
luvmykids replied: I wonder if thats an older generation type thing, my grandpa used to make those for me too and said it was because they didn't always have jelly. He used to cut the crust off and cut the sandwich in triangles...it was the Little Pixie Special
My2Beauties replied: All I know is I'm getting grossed out reading a lot of this stuff
Insanemomof3 replied: I spread mayo on a saltine and eat that with chili. I love it. I can't eat chili without it.
I also can't eat burritos without Tapatio (hot sauce). Won't even touch them with out the sauce. I am sure there are other things I am strange about but I can't think of any right now.
Oh...I won't eat eggs without tabasco on them. Eggs are not my favorite thing anyway, but I won't eat them at all without tabasco.
Katrinadoodle replied: Hmm, this one is pregnancy related, I think. I've never craved it before, at least... but Lays Cheddar potato chips and sour cream
PrairieMom replied: that actually sounds pretty good!
