Spent the night in the hopsital with Breanna...

mummy2girls wrote: Breanna came down with a cold on wednesday evening. She had a restless sleep and kept waking up every hour coughing. Then thursday she was very melow and not really eating much and a bit warm. Thursday night around 1030pm I hear gasping over the monitor and look at marcus and say that doesnt sound normal. So we go up to check on her we layed her down on the bed and opened her shirt. We could see ALL of her ribs and the skin being sucked in between. snd het tummy was being sucked in big time. So i rushed her to the stollery emergency room. We were there for asbout an hour waiting and she was doing fine but then i see her feet bluish in color. I got up to triage to tell the nurse and they bumped her up and rushed her in to see the doctor. The doctor checked her breathing and said FOLLOW ME we NEED to get breathing treatments for her. Her oxygen levels were REALLY LOW!!!! They gave her treatments every 15 minutes for an hour. Then checked her breathing again... her ariways were opened again and she was up to 95 in her levels. PHEW!!!!! Her air way was actually closing up. The doctor said that she may be asthmatic or this could be signs of her developing asthma. Because she had brochiolitis at 16 months and then this upper respirartory virus now that it could be signs of full blown asthma... UGH!!!! She seems to catch the normal cold and it turn into this! So she is taking breathing tratments at home every 4 hours for the next few days... She may get worse she may get better. If she starts getting an uncontrolled fever, uncontrolled vomitting and the breathing gets as bad as it did last night then we have to take her back in.... NOT FUN!!!!

Our Lil' Family replied: Oh wow, how scary! Sounds like my friend's son...he has asthma, any cold turns 10xs worse. Hope they can get it under control for her!

A&A'smommy replied: This sounds like my friends little boy everytime he gets sick it turns into something more serious! My nephew had the same issues and was finally diagnosed with asthma when he was about 6 I believe... it's been a while so its hard to remember he is allergic to EVERYTHING... almost literally so that was the root of a lot of his problems. But anyway sorry your sweet baby keeps getting sick I hope they can do something for her soon!
