Speed limits - do you follow them?

C&K*s Mommie wrote: On an average road, not on roads that are usually patrolled, or where going the limit is a must (like neighborhoods).
Do you follow the speed limit to a "T" fluctuating your speed as the signs change, even if traffic is moving more swiftly by?
Or do you flow with traffic, even if they are moving faster than the posted speed limit?

kayla's mama replied: You are talking to the Queen of speeding tickets cool.gif

I have a very heavy foot and a bad case of road rage, only when I'm by myself, not with the Tator Tot wink.gif I very rarely do the speed limit unless I know for sure that its a speed trap and I also have a radar detector...needless to say it has saved my rear end more than a couple of times sleep.gif

1lilpeanut2love replied: I speed all of the time. I have never once had a speeding ticket. Knock on wood!! tongue.gif I usually follow the flow of traffic even if they are going faster than the posted speed. I admit I do have road rage. I hate when people pull out in front of me or go too slow!!!! wacko.gif

holley79 replied: emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif What's a speed limit?? Just kidding. Usually with the flow of traffic. In neighborhoods and such I do follow the SL to a T.

3xsthefun replied: I usually go with flow with the traffic even if it is faster then the speed limit.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Generally I will stay within 5 MPH of the speed limit.

J-rod replied: i set the flow of traffic..... rolling_smile.gif

salmndr007 replied: Usually I ride with traffic. However, if I am the only one on the road, I usually set my cruise control for 4 over...I know it doesn't make that big of a difference, but I just don't like speed limits and I figure that if you are going under that 5mph barrier on neighborhood streets, cops usually won't stop you. On the interstae, I set the cruise for 8 over...A friend of mine is a cop and he said that there is a general rule...9 your fine, 10 your mine! This way I am still under and by no means close to that 10 mark.

J-rod replied: hahaha good rule sal.... however in our town there is only one cop.....speed limit is only enforced when kids/buses going to and from school (school time) or if he doesnt know you.

although a state trooper pulled me over right in front of steph's grandma's house. blush.gif but i got away...since steph is beautiful and holding our new puppy....he just said nice car....but please slow down. blush.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I actually started following them fairly closely because in Colorado they will ticket for anything...and do. Before I moved here I was a Californian and speed limits were more like a general suggestion biggrin.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: On the highway I set the cruise control for 5-8 over. wink.gif The reason being is that the guns they use to clock your speed are not accurate. They are always over by a few miles. If you are going 5 miles over it's just perfect. happy.gif

In town I've gotten better about watching my speed. I used to just go at whatever speed and not even look at my speedometer. blink.gif blush.gif

luvbug00 replied: I go fast, not too fast, but fast. I don't like being near anyone on the road since people around here are undable to talk and drive at the same time ( yes, I'm speaking to you 16 year olds who just learned to drive and want to tell your homies the latest gossip!) or they put on makeup or just are horrid drivers.

lisar replied: Depends on where I am at and who is with me. By myself I normally run 70-80 on the highway if I am in a residential area then I will go slow I am to scared I will hit a kid on a bike or something. If my kids are with me then I will be good with my driving.

MyLuvBugs replied: blush.gif not really blush.gif I try... rolleyes.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I really try to follow the speed limits....cant afford speeding tickets!!
I've never been pulled over for anything!

DVFlyer replied: I don't drive crazy, but I typically will go with the flow of traffic- which around here, is either 80 or 5 mph.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I stay with in 5mph of the posted limit. LOVE cuise for this. However on long road trips I go with the flow.
