Speaking of the news - whats worse?

luvmykids wrote: Here were our top stories tonight .....

A 17yo shot his 21yo sister in the head over her owing him $20.00

An idiot in a second floor apartment got strung out and started shooting. He didn't want to hurt anyone, so he started shooting at the floor. The bullets went through the floor, which of course is someone elses ceiling, and missed a baby by less than 2 inches.

A teenager was sentenced today for killing his father, stepmother, and stepsister on Sam Donaldsons ranch here in NM.

What a wonderful world.

NEWMOM05 replied: Yuck.

Ours was about a little girl Jane Cordova Doe whose body was found in a dumpster in Jan. They now know who killed her her parents. Nice huh! sad.gif

Also about hostages being held in Phoenix.

We're in Vegas.

CAMSMOM1 replied: I live very close to Laci Peterson's home town. That was horrible, it put our area on the map, for all the wrong reasons.

And the other day, a young (22) woman who was 8 months pregnant, was shot by her boyfriend. sad.gif

And one of our News Reporters was charged with child pornography and molesting! unsure.gif

There is also a new "swinging" club that just opened here. Couples can go there, find other couples they want to "hook-up" with....it's a lot like prositution, but they aren't paying for it. And it hasn't been shut down yet! What?! ohmy.gif

That's why I don't watch the news. Nothing inspiring or worth watching, unless you don't want to sleep at night. Horrible! dry.gif

holley79 replied: Well ours was about the "Faces of Meth". Showing the effects that meth have on people.

The beating that took place in South Florida. The teens that beat the two homeless people killing one of them. The parents of the guy that was killed lives here.

Woman stabbed to death by another woman. The woman might possibly been pregnant.

The news is depressing and I hate watching it to be honest with you.

Working for the Sheriff's Office I have to hear all the bad stuff on a daily basis. dry.gif

kayla's mama replied: I didn't watch much of the news tonight but this is whats been going on here....

Corruption scandle with the law makers

School system changing answers on standardized test so we can have better marks for our school system...which is crabby anyway. We have a lot of schools failing

Cars being broken into, shooting, and other normal city stuff!!!!

I mainly watch the news for the weather and they are hardly ever right rolleyes.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I have not heard the news for here lately, reading Holley's post was the first I heard of our local news in days.

I happened to glance at someone when a man was on tv, while the news was showing the 'faces of meth', but that was all I saw of it.

Cece00 replied: I didnt watch the news last night. Maybe I'll watch @ noon. I dont watch that much, my husband watches almost nothing BUT news & listens to talk & news radio & I get sick of it all sleep.gif

I have to say, I live in a pretty safe city/area. Not to say crime never happens, but we dont have murder every day, rape, etc.

& it has quieted down a lot since a lot of the New Orleans refugees went back to N.O. or to other shelters from our dome, or when they had to leave hotels b/c FEMA cut off hotel funding. We were having some robberies, car jackings, etc when they were around.

MamaJAM replied: Our city has it's share of horrible news stories...and DH often has clients in the Philadelphia area so we watch the news from there quite often.

mckayleesmom replied: Lets see...the biggest case I see on the news EVERY NIGHT is about this ex cop that hired someone to kill his wife and 2 children....SO there are 2 seperate trials going on...1 for Charles Bonet (sp?) and one for the cop.

Edward's Mommy replied: I was a freshman in high school when the Columbine High School Shooting happened and since I live in Colorado and went to school in Littleton (not far from Columbine) nothing seems to shock me anymore!

redchief replied: Nothing happened here today, or yesterday, or the day before. I love my boring little town!

My3LilMonkeys replied: Our big news story around here lately is about Hugo Selinski. He (supposedly) murdered 5 people and buried their bodies in his girlfriend's yard. They originally put him in our local county prison, and he escaped. So they moved him to a maximum security prison. Now his trial is approaching and the 2 big stories: 1) They just moved him BACK to the prison he escaped from. 2) They are having a hard time picking a jury because they can't find anyone who isn't biased.
