Just thought I would check on you!!!

For those that are in the process of quitting. Are you using the patch/ or something similar or did you "cold turkey" it?

Ok I crack my self up. I just saw where my second line was Ladies... All I could think of was DOND... I watch WAY too much TV. rolling_smile.gif

Nina J replied: I was wondering the exact same thing the other day happy.gif

I hope it's all going well, I havn't seen any updates either, or else I missed them tongue.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Good news, anyone?? Any news at all good or bad, we are right here to support you the whole way-- hug.gif

luvmykids replied:
rolling_smile.gif Me too!

I'm actually doing pretty good!!! Nicorette came out with a new flavor, Fresh Citrus or something like that. In the past I couldn't handle the gum but this stuff is really good! Yesterday I only had 3. I actually went without any at all for most of the day because I simply didn't have any but my mom came over and I made her give me some of hers. rolleyes.gif I told her she's going to have to just stay away from me for a while! laugh.gif

None today, don't have any and don't plan on going anywhere, so I wouldn't even be able to do a quick stop to get some.

I've had some terrible terrible moments but have been chewing the gum pretty much non stop, I think it helps the cravings be less than if I had a full blown one and then chewed the gum. Those are the ones I can't fight too well. wacko.gif

Oh-and leftover jelly beans and sunflower seeds too!

BAC'sMom replied: I started with the gum about 3 weeks ago, but it gives me indigestion. Not sure what is going on with that. I have been chewing regular gum and eating jolly ranchers. I am down to about 4-5 a day….depending on the day. wacko.gif So I have cut my smoking habit more than half. thumb.gif Thanks for asking!

luvmykids replied: Jimmie, the gum does that to me too sometimes, I was just reading the box and it says chewing one piece after another can cause the heartburn, indigestion, etc. Plus are you chewing it till it tingles and then leaving it between your cheek and gum? If I chew it like regular gum I get the indigestion too.

Sounds like you're doing great with out it though! thumb.gif

holley79 replied: WTG you two. We are proud of you. hug.gif thumb.gif My mom had the same problem with the gun if she chewed it like regular gum. Maybe it will get better. I did the Dum Dum pops, wrigleys and jolly ranchers when I quit since the Dr told me not to use the nicorete gum.

luvmykids replied: I'm almost at my first 24 hours without one, about an hour away. On one hand it hasn't been as bad as I thought but I'm also dying! I wanted to go get Quiznos meatball subs for dinner but didn't because Walgreens is right next door and I KNOW I would go in and buy a pack.

I'm ok at the moment but kind of freaking out thinking I can't make it through the night! And that what am I going to do at 1am when the kids are in bed and I absolutely cannot go get some?

I'm hanging in there though. I've eaten a lot of cheetos today!

kayla's mama replied: You guys are doing so good hug.gif hug.gif Keep up the good work.

holley79 replied: Hang in there sweetie the first 48 hours without a single one is the HARDEST. I have faith in you though. hug.gif I broke down the first week and was at Murphy's buying a pack. Don't do it. If I were there I would keep you laughing and take your mind off of it. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied: TY, that gives me some hope! hug.gif Only 24 hours to go then! thumb.gif

~~*Missi*~~ replied: WTG guys. I know how hard it can be. I thank God daily that in Jan 2004-Feb2004 I started getting sick and gaggin when I smoked so I stopped. Come to find out it was Sabrina, I was pregnant.

Chris my husband it took about 6months to FULLY quit. He did what most you are doing. Cutting the cigs down. He went down slowly til he was down to 1-2 a day. Then he was finished.... I was very proud of him as I am of you all... Its hard but keep up the good work!!!

Plus look at the money you will save (well after the gum stage) LOL....
My grandma who also quit always tells me there is nothing worse then a reformed smoker...... LOL

GOOD LUCK AND GREAT JOBS

Nina J replied: I'm so proud of you guys! Your doing great, in a few weeks you'll really see the benefits and be so glad your cutting back/quitting happy.gif

We're always here if you need to vent, I've been where you guys are so I can relate to what your going through hug.gif
