Spagetti Noodles?
mckayleesmom wrote: I have never had the whole grain pasta noodles before.......Do they taste the same as the regular ones?
Jamison'smama replied: They usually take longer to cook and taste a little different--kind of like the difference btw whole wheat and white bread. I mix the whole grain and regular and no one seems to mind.
mummy2girls replied: yes pretty much the same and better for you!
mckayleesmom replied: Hmm...I will have to try some.
booey2 replied: Bri, don't know if you have the Catelli brand down there but there is a new product from them called Smart Pasta, it is white pasta but has more fibre than the whole wheat ones. Looks and tastes like white pasta too, my leader said it was okay to have that instead of the whole wheat.
lovemy2 replied: Some do, some don't - I think its the Ronzoni Smart Taste or something like that that I think is closest
A&A'smommy replied: They taste better to me and my husband who is the pickest man in the world likes them better!!!
stella6979 replied: Jeff and I both prefer the whole grain and if you're using it in like spaghetti, lasagna...anything with a sauce you really can't tell the difference.
sparkys2boys replied: I agree, the sauce seems to cover up any diffrence
Maddie&EthansMom replied: It definitely depends on the brand you buy.
msoulz replied: MMMMMMMMMMMMM spaghetti - no matter what noodle, it sure sounds good!!
I think there is a texture difference in the whole grain ones too. Maybe a bit more chewy or something. But it sure sounds good!!
A&A'smommy replied: we had it last night and tonight I baked it and put some ritz crackers and cheese on top it was SOOO good!!!
Calimama replied: It tastes different IMO. Thicker and not as slimy as regular spaghetti..
Brias3 replied: We eat only wheat pasta now and I can't taste the difference. My husband can though- he thinks it takes a bit "heavier". I do also notice I need to cook them longer than regular pasta.
