Sorry we've been MIA - Lisa's had a setback

She had another CT scan the other day and it shows three small abscesses. We've changed infection control doctors and are pursuing more aggressive treatment. She's been having a hard time eating and sleeping and asks for your continued prayers. Thanks everyone.

I just got off the phone with the radiologist and the hospital. Lisa goes into surgery at 7:30 AM tomorrow for a CT guided abscess drain in her belly. There are 3 abscesses. Only one can be reached this way, but it's the largest of the three and the docs think that if they get that one drained her body will be able to heal the other two. At any rate, at least we're doing something proactive.

She's also scheduled for a PICC line (the one from the hospital was removed by the doctor we are no longer seeing. We'll be administering antibiotics via IV from tomorrow on. We're hoping this will allow her stomach to heal so that she will be able to start holding down food again. I'll keep you all updated as I can. Hopefully in a few days she'll be strong enough to get on and say hello herself.

redchief replied: We're all settled in for the next three weeks of infection fighting. Hopefully that will be all and we'll be able to leave this all behind at the end.

Lisa got her PICC line in and an abdominal drain installed this morning. We received 3 weeks worth of IV antibiotics and all of the materials necessary for that. The good news is that already Lisa seems to be feeling better emotionally and physically. Her color and appetite were good today for the first time in a long time. She's still a little weak and tired, but all of her comments were positive today. Again, she sends thanks to all for your continued prayers and well wishes.

Thank you so much for the prayers
I'm feeling better still weak and I lost 10lbs in a month and my brains are tired and I'm so tired of being poked and prodded I just want everything to be back to normal.

I will pass on these words to everyone if something doesnt feel right dont play or wait go to the Dr and get it checked out its so not worth what I'm going through and will be for awhile.

Mel and Holley I hope you ladies are doing well Ed told me about your procedures and I hope your both doing fine.

Oh yes I agree about the pic line I also have a drain coming out of my stomach as soon as they started that I felt 85% better.

I have a home nurse comes once a week and Ed gives me my meds 3xs a day by IV this is so much better then the hospital.
