Sorry been MIA..... - death in family

Hillbilly Housewife wrote: Last Thursday night I went back to Ottawa because my grandfather was really sick. He'd been sick for a while (cancer) but he really wasn't doing well. They<d taken him off the meds for treatment, and he was just on pain medication. So, since it was a long weekend here (Quebec) we went to see him with the kids. We stayed overnight, came back home on Saturday fr a few hours for DH's cousin's wedding, went back to Ottawa, and left Ottawa at 6:30 Monday morning to be here at 9am.

Zach was sick in the car, so we were home at 10 instead. Anyways - it was really busy at work yesterday.

This morning at 7am, my mom called to tell me my grandfather had passed away. He was really close - he and my grandmother raised me and my brother, from since my parents separated, since my mom went to school full time and worked nights... so he was really like a dad to me for the last 13 years.

Anyways - just popping on to check stuff quickly - then I'm off to take a bus to Ottawa to help with funeral arrangements etc, and DH and the kids will meet me Friday night.

So - I'll be out of commission at least until Monday, if anyone was wondering where I was.
