Sorry I haven't been around - My grandma passed away Christmas Eve

My2Beauties wrote: I haven't been around since Christmas Eve, I posted that morning about my grandma being in the hospital. She died not too long after I posted Her wake was Friday and her funeral was yesterday. I'm ok with it, my grandma was really sick and suffering, she has been sick for 7 years now. She had COPD and Emphysema I guess smoking 2 1/2 packs a day will do that to ya. Anyways, I wanted to let you guys know what was going on and why I haven't been around. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. She is resting in peace now, no longer suffering, it's just one of those things that it was in a way a blessing for her since she was suffering but it was hard on us, because she has lived with this sickness for so long that we got so used to her being around and I basically thought she was going to last a lot longer than she did, it was sort of unexpected and it took her quick. She developed an infection in the nursing home they had her in for rehab (she was only in there a week and a half) and the whole time she was there she got worse and worse and sicker and sicker despite the antibiotics, they weren't feeding her or anything, she refused to eat and they wouldn't feed her through an IV neither In some ways I think her not eating was her way of letting herself go, she told my mom she was ready to die, what can you say to that? Thanks for being there guys to uplift her in your prayers on my other post.

Kaitlin'smom replied: its not easy to lose a loved one and even worse this time of year we lost grandpa on christmas eve a couple years ago, it was really ruff.
