Songs that make you think

I was just listening to "Probably wouldn't be this way" by Lee Ann Rimes. Which makes me remember to tell everyone I love that I love them often, because you never know when they might be gone.
And I like "To make you feel my love" by Garth Brooks. Which reminds me of living in Panama City with Chris, and being poor- but happy.
ammommy replied: I love Fragile by Sting. It just makes you realize that you never know what life will bring so enjoy the now. Great now I'm beginning to
DansMom replied: Certain folk songs from the sixties and seventies evoke strong memories of my childhood---my mom was a war protester---and they make me think about the politics of today and my place in the world. "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" and "Blowin' in the Wind" are among several that I've listened to in recent months, making me think of where I've been and where I am today.
mammag replied: Well, mine isn't all positive but my sisters and I just were talking and saying the Kelly Clarkson song "because of you" could have easily been written by one of us to our parents......every word is so fitting. It makes me sad. It does make me want to do things better for my own children though so Iguess that is a plus.
holley79 replied: "Who you'd be Today" by Kenny Chesney. I lost a very good friend right after my car accident. There are certain things that remind me of him and when I hear the Kenny Chesney song and LeeAnn Rhimes songs then I really think about him.
jcc64 replied: "Masters of War" by Bob Dylan. Could have been written today, about this war, although it's from the Vietnam Era. Most of his songs are timeless, but this one is particular is startling for its relevance to today.
mummy2girls replied: she didnt have time by terri clark... its about a single mom finding that special someone for her and her daughter. It makes me cry each time i hear it...
And the dance by garth brooks. That is the song i dedicated to Jordan at his funeral!
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Who you'd be today gets me I too lost a good friend and that song makes me think of him! He was the love of my best friends life and I am so sad for her everytime I hear it!
USMCwife replied: Already There by LoneStar Everytime I hear that song I cry, it reminds me of when Josh was in Afghanistan.
jacobsmama replied: "To dance with my father again" Luther Vandross, leanne rhymes you all mentioned and who you'd be today kenny chesney...We just lost our Best Friend/Cousin who was 25 to a construction accident he has to very young children who are like my own 3 and 1 year old. It will be 1 year January 19th....I miss him so much Life is sooo unfair sometimes.
C&K*s Mommie replied: THANKS you guys!! While some of these songs I remember, and have memories attached, too. Some of them I am not familiar with, but I will be sure to upload it from BearShare to listen to. THANKS so much again!!
BTW... I hope I did mean to make anyone think too much on the sad events of their lives by thinking of these songs. Some of us mentioned that we at the hearing of a particular song, I hope you were still able to smile afterwards. When you realized that you had great times with that person that has passed on.
luvbug00 replied: "Baby mine " from dumbo ( sung by bette midler) it's a song my dad used to sing to me and we are using it at the wedding. ( but he doesn't know that yet.. it's a surprise )
Insanemomof3 replied: That song is one of my favorites, but it makes me sad too. I think of my sister.
my2monkeyboys replied: That Tim McGraw song Live Like You Were Dying was played at my uncle's funeral since it was his favorite song. He died very unexpectedly at the age of 52. For the first 6-8 months I couldn't even listen to that song on the radio without crying, bc it took me back to his funeral. Now I like it, though, I guess bc it makes me think of him. It's strange how we all have a "soundtrack" to our life. I'd like to sit down one day and try to list out songs that remind me of things, both good and bad. Even from as young as 8 or so, I can hear songs that instantly put me in that place and time. It's just really neat. Sorry for the long post!
C&K*s Mommie replied: That is perfectly fine! I always have loooonnnggg posts. Besides if you have something to say, go for it! no matter how long the post.
