Son-of-a-Twinkie!
Crystalina wrote: Darn it! So much for the no carbs! I've done so good for a week and a half. No carbs (well, I still have my coffee with sugar and milk). There are a few in my cheese and meat but other then that...nada.
Today, the twinkie box was calling me and I had to have one. Then I had a glass of milk. My stomach cramped and I had dh bring Burger King home since I had already ruined it for the day.
I'm very upset with myself.
TheOaf66 replied: ok go sit in the corner and think about what you did
moped replied: Carbs are SO HARD to kick!!!! I think a lot of us are carb addicts really. I know I am!!!!!!
Don't beat yourself up. I did a "Body For Life" program and they said for 6 days follow the routine, then one day a week eat whatever you want - I found I didn't feel so resricted when i did that!
coasterqueen replied: Nope, couldn't give up carbs.
Now, what I do is not buy things like twinkies, etc so they aren't in the house to temp me. Well, more importantly they aren't there for the kids to be tempted by, either. I rarely buy any junk food for the house, so the kids only have better options.
Calimama replied: Well it wouldn't have been so bad if you hadn't forgone the rest of the day LOL. The trick is (IMO) if you give in to temptation.. then it's okay.. eat the twinkie. But stay on track the rest of the day. Because now, rather than JUST having the 200 calories from the twinkie, you've had the 800 calories from BK.. kwim? I know, easier said then done.
momofone replied: If i dont eat carbs i never feel full or satisfied.
mckayleesmom replied: don't feel bad...carbs are the new crack
A&A'smommy replied: well you know it will be ok
moped replied: I agree there girl!
Crystalina replied: Ugh! Okay.
Can I bring the rest of the twinkies with me???
Crystalina replied: Ok, lets also add the 5,000 calories from the Oreo Cheesequake Blizzard from Dariy Queen.
Yep, this day is shot to heck.
Crystalina replied: I agree!!
Crystalina replied: Same here. I can "feel" full but within an hour I start feeling not full. The fullness from non-carbs is very short. I usually chug 2-3 glasses of water to help. Then I just have to pee.
wcs40110 replied: They say if you fall off your diet brush yourself off and start again, don't throw in the towel.
MommyToAshley replied: Today is a new day.
However, I have heard that the no-carb diets aren't really a good idea becuase once you do eat carbs, you gain weight even faster. Not sure how much truth there is to it, I just saw a show about diets on Discovery Health. I know it's a controversial diet. I don't think I could do it. I could probably limit them, but not cut them out completely.
Crystalina replied: That's what I've decided to do. I'm limiting them A LOT. No carbs for me is not realistic. I'm PR. We live on grease and carbs.
Calimama replied: That's smart. This is just my opinon so you can tell me to flake off if you want and I'll understand. If I were you I'd cut SOME carbs.. but not all. Your body needs carbs and it's unrealistic to think you can give them up for the rest of your life (not saying YOU do.. I just know some girls who think that lol). If you want to lose weight, I would count calories, eat smaller portions, and eat less fat. But you need the food groups. Try switching to whole wheat rather than white.. even in tortillas and crackers, that will help a little! Good luck!!!!
