Something my daycare provider said really hit me
coasterqueen wrote: This morning Terri was telling me that since it was going to be so hot today they may try to go to the local water park. I said "cool, Kylie will like that". She said "yeah, today is mom's get in free day with their child, so I thought we'd go".
For some reason as soon as she said that I immediately wanted to burst into tears and I wanted to that woman all at the same time. I'm still angry over it and I have no idea why and I also want to cry about it. LOL.
I'm the MOMMY! I just keep saying that, lol. Wow, I never thought I would get so defensive about that. I knew she didn't mean anything by it. I'm saddened every day I have to work instead of being with her, but today has been the worst.!
alice&arik replied: I can't believe she said that!:smash: I don't think she meant to hurt your feelings though. Maybe you could have a day out with Kylie to make you feel better.
MommyToAshley replied: Aweeeee! I am sure your sitter didn't mean anything, and I bet she doesn't even realize what she said. However, I know that must have hurt. I probably would have brokend down in tears on the spot! You are an awesome Mommmy and KYLIE knows that.... and that is the important thing!
coasterqueen replied: Thanks Alice and Dee. I knew she didn't mean anything by it. She was just meaning that she can get a good savings by going on mom and dd day, but yes it did hurt.
Hopefully she won't ever say anything like that again, or I will have to her. ROFL.
MomToMany replied: I know a comment like that would hurt my feelings, too. My boys used to be in daycare while I worked full-time, and it hurt my feelings when they'd rather stay with the daycare lady than come home with me.
I know you know she didn't mean anything by it, but hopefully she will choose different words next time. It was really bad the way she said it!
kimberley replied: awww (((hugs))) Karen. i am really defensive about those things too. just means we love our kids lots. both the boys' grandmother and Jade's grandmother call the kids "their baby" and it bugs me. they are MY kids!!! lol
Jamison'smama replied: That stinks--was it hard to bite your tongue when she said that?
A&A'smommy replied: ((((BIG HUGS)))) you totally have a right to feel upset about that too!
Mom2Boyz replied: I would be upset too if someone made a comment like that!! (((((BIG HUGS))))) for you
momof2girls replied: That would have hurt my feelings too just because I know how hard it is to leave them, my daughter is Kiley too just spelled differently! My husband watcher her when I work (part time) and even when he tells me things that are similar I wanna punch him out!!!
Kylie knows who her momma is!!!
kit_kats_mom replied: Karen, that blows. I would have lost it too. I'm sorry that it's so difficult for you. It sounds like you've really been struggling with your decisions to work for a while now. I really hope that it all works out and you can be at peace soon. BIG HUGE HUGS!
coasterqueen replied: Thanks Cary. Unfortunately I will probably always have to struggle with that decision because that's the only choice we have at the moment. I've tried finding at home jobs around here and can't. Being this is the capitol most jobs anyways are state jobs, lol. And my income is too important as far as paying the bills to give it up.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Awwwww I'm so sorry that your sitter said that! I'm sure she didn't mean anything negative towards you. Kylie knows your her mom!
paradisemommy replied: yep..that would have been a tough one to swallow for me too but you just have to keep telling yourself, Kylie knows how much you love her and that YOU are her momma...
jem0622 replied: Sometimes people say the lamest things. Don't feel bad Mom!
