I remember calling everything a coke. I would go to a restaurant and say "coke please" and they say "what kind? we have sprite, mt. dew....."
Then in New York it was Soda and then I moved here (Ohio) and everyone says pop. That's what I call it now but it took awhile to get used to that.
As for the suckers... that's what I call them now. Growing up they were lollipops but when in Rome...
Sorry...it's CosmetologyMommy

Soda or Coke and Lollipop for me. In fact, I wish I had a soda and a lollipop right now

I have a good friend who lives in New Zealand -- it took us a while to get used to the language the other uses. For weeks - every time she told me her son needed a "new nappy" - I thought she was being 'cutesie' in saying he needed a rest. And it really freaked me out that her newborn was sleeping in a 'cot'.

luvmykids replied: In a restaurant of course we order by name but otherwise everything is a Coke, and we eat suckers and wear tennies.

Crystalina replied: I've said lollipop once or twice and you would think I was speaking a strange language. Izabella said "what's a lol, lol, lollipop?" That's just how I was raised to say to it. My mom refuses to say sucker. She says it just doensn't even sound appealing or educated.

Our kids get Suckers, unless they get those huge ones you only get every now and then. The ones that are as big as your hands, those are lollipops.
All gym shoes are Tennis Shoes or Tenny Boppers around here. They boys only have two kinds of shoes it seems, Cowboy boots and one pair of Tenny Boopers. They may have 5 pairs of boots though~!
ilovemybaby replied: Sucker is a bad word here. Like loser. I just couldn't call lollipops "suckers" LOL
MommyToAshley replied: I've called it cola, soda, or pop... depending on where I lived. Right now, in Ohio, it is pop.
I use the term sucker for lollipop, but DH uses the term sucker for a popcycle. How weird is that!
