So proud of my son

Well, I got the letter back today.

He IS gifted, which we actually already knew. He didnt test high enough to be automatically admitted to the summer program, as a child had to have a 95% or higher to be automatically entered, and he didnt quite score that high. He still could be in it BUT it goes by percentage and I have no idea how many spots are left open right now.

But, he will be enrolled in the regular program starting in August and his score made him eligible from grades K-8 without being tested again.

And then his school he is starting in Aug actually has its own gifted program starting in 2nd grade.

Anyway- obviously I am a very proud mom! But not surprised, he always has been a very smart child. I'll never forget when he was 2.5 and he told me a window was transparent, or when he was 4 and he told me how the pupil in your eye works.

Now, hopefully next yr my younger son will be able to test into the program, and my younger 2 children as well. We will certainly work with all of them to get into it, although I know a lot of it is natural ability. But if they dont, thats OK too. We're proud of our children no matter what, and they all do and will have their own talents.

grapfruit replied: That's awesome!!! I was in a gifted program in grade school and it was great. It was so much different the REGULAR school. It's going to be an amazing experience for him!!!! We did so much fun stuff that looking back now I realize was way advanced for our age, but it was presented in such a way that was so fascinating that it seemed easy... Way to go and keep up the great work!!!
