So looks like I won't be around as much

Work has blocked parenting club and I can no longer come out here at work. I tried getting in through google and everything - nothing worked I mean of all the things to block, I mean porn sites - well yes obviously, shopping sites, yes because of the putting in credit card #'s etc... I can see that, Goody websites such as rotten.com and goofy stuff like that ok I completely understand...but um...er...a parenting site! It's sort of has me spooked, I mean there are 21,000 associates that work for my company throughout the US so I honestly doubt I'm the only one that ever googled a parenting site and found pc.com, I'm sure others at my place of business have...but well um I do spend a lot of time out there, I stay loggedin all day usually but just keep the screen minimized. I hope nothing comes of it and they just decided to block the site. Who knows...it could be temporary, they are putting a huge change in place to our access all day tomorrow and we will only have read only access to the payroll system and the whole HR system period...so maybe they had to block a bunch of sites for fear of viruses or something - I don' tknow I just know that if come Monday I can't get on to pc.com I think I'll cry!

Nina J replied: Man, thats sucks! I was just telling DH, he said try typing in the web address but leave out the www., so just try typing parentingclub.com, apparently it works sometimes if sites are blocked. You could ask Troy (I think it's Troy) how he got in, because his work blocked PC??

Cece00 replied: I feel for ya, but I have a comment, too...I'm surprised that not ALL businesses/companies dont block all sites that are not needed for work. I can see why they would do this, because you want people to work at work- not mess around on the internet. I mean if your company doesnt mind, cool, but I know a few ppl who cant visit ANY internet sites at work, except ones they may need for work, because they dont want ppl surfing the internet.

Boys r us replied: That stinks!!!! I know right before I went out of work, I got the samething when I tried to access this website! hopefully it won't still be blocked when I go back to work!

Crystalina replied: I've been having the same problem lately with "server not found" but I'm at home. Maybe DH is slowly blocking me from sites. I would try emailing a link or typing it in like someone has already mentioned. I bet it will work.

That would totally stink if you can't get back on.

skinkybaby replied: I'd be careful about finding ways to log on to blocked sites. Its not hard for your IT department to figure out you're still going to sites you're not supposed to. If they report you you can easily get fired.
