So, I'm pretty much freaking out by now
PrairieMom wrote: I offered my services to the Christmas program coordinator at church. I offered up my sewing machine, and meager crafting skills to do what ever she needed, and she asked me to sew 3 robes for the wise men. No problem. Done. Do we need crowns or belts or anything? Nope, that is all being taken care of, don't worry. That was 6 weeks ago.
Fast forward to yesterday at play pratice...
if you need costumes, Tara is in charge... let her know... Thankfully everything is made already, but there is a LOT of hemming to do, I think last years Mary must have been in HS, this one is in the 3rd grade. No crowns or belts for the kings, so I will be creating those... Joseph ripped out the back of his tunic last year, so that needs repaired.
So, apparently, I am the wardrobe department. Wanna guess when the program is? 6 days from now.
so, if I am a bit MIA-ish, you will know, its cause I am feverishly gluing sequins to stuff.
cameragirl21 replied: I wish you were here to hem my bra where the underwire keeps poking out. I know I need to just throw it out but it's my favorite bra.
Calimama replied: Oh man. You can't recruit a couple people from the church to help!?
PrairieMom replied: If there were people to help, I wouldn't be doing this. I'm the sucker that stepped up. I'll have to post pics of my finished products, I hope they turn out like they look in my head.
jem0622 replied: Oh isn't that random spreading of your kindness without being asked just divine? But you know what...you are doing a very good deed. Just don't do that again! ROTFL.
MommyToAshley replied: Yikes!!! But, if anyone can pull this off... you can. I can't wait to see the pics. If I were near you, I'd offer to help. You can give me a tube of glue, but you wouldn't want me to get near a sewing machine. LOL!
lisar replied: Have fun. And I think its a great thing that your doing that. Its so nice
CantWait replied: Not fair Tara, I would have had a few choice words.
mckayleesmom replied: Good Luck Tara...I have faith in you.
luvmykids replied: WOW! Like Dee Dee said though, if anyone can pull it off, it's you And I'm sure your help is very much appreciated
PrairieMom replied: I have 2 of the belts 90% finished, they are going pretty fast. It would be faster but I decided to hand bead fringe for them... I'm a freak. They are turning out really cool tho. The crowns should be super easy. I can use easier glue for them, theis stuff I am using for the belts is special ribbon / sequin glue and it is a MESS!
Danalana replied: You can do it, Tara! I think it's awesome that you are doing it
