So I'm picking my colors for the paint in our - new place... well mostly, anyways...
Hillbilly Housewife wrote: the dining room, living room, main hallway and upstairs hallway is this awful Pepto-Bismol pink. I HATE HATE HATE it. It's getting painted.
So i' picked gold and an olive green... I hope it looks good. My couch I left behind that I'm getting back is light wood, and it's kind oogly - but I think it will go well with those colors. It's got lavender, pink, and gold flowers on it, all of them with some brown, and of course, the green foliage. The background color is brown.
I was going to go with a darker brown for walls... because it would go really well with my light colored furniture... but the olive green would coordinate the dining room and bathroom. I'm not 100% sure of my picks... lol
Oh well - anything is better than PINK!
kimberley replied: amen to no pink lol!
i wouldn't go dark brown cuz it really shrinks a room and is awful to paint over if you ever change your mind. any shade samples to show us?
kit_kats_mom replied: I feel your pain. Between being sick, Lauren's teething, work and the general day to day stuff, I'm working on paints. I finally chose colors for the rest of the house. Now I just have to buy them and get to painting.
The colors you've chosen sound nice. I'd like to see pics.
C&K*s Mommie replied: cannot wait to see the pics of your work.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I could show you samples no problem... when I get the paint # from my mom.
She's storing my couch and chair in her basement (since I had no room for it here and had to buy myself a dinky black pull out couch) and is going to be taking a cushion to the store to match the paints.... The brown is very dark... and it wouldn't have been the whole room, just the wall with my entertainment unit, I think. Because it's so big. It will take up almost the entire wall... but that's if it's going in my living room. It may go in my basement. I don't know yet!!

Kaitlin'smom replied: well yes most colors are better than that pink but not all of them. I HATE picking paint out it is never the same color on the walls. When I re-did whats now Kaits bathroom I had NO clue what color I wanted so I got tons of color samples and taped them all on all the wall, so when I would use the bathroom I could stare at them and if one what awful I would take it down. I think it took me almost a month to find a color I liked, it still turned out much lighter than I wanted.
Hope it works out for you. I want pics of this pink
ashtonsmama replied: We have some light forest green for our living room and love it, so hopefully yours will turn out well!
You're right, ANYTHING is better than Pepto Pink!
DVFlyer replied: I just painted my office at work and picked some cool (I think) colors. They are Behr colors. One is a moss green of sorts called Garland. Another is a blue called Blue Baritone and the base color is Haze, which is a light tan.
I hate getting colors like Swiss Coffee which looks tan and by the time I put it on the wall, it looks WHITE. Give me a COLOR anyday.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Le tme see if I have a pic of the inside with the pink....
Yep - you can see it in the background.
DVFlyer replied: At least the paint matched the icing on the cake.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hmmm... you can't see it as well as I thought you could. Han gon...
Hillbilly Housewife replied: funny. Real funny DV.
