So I just talked to the property manager - and we are being...

She doesn't know how much it will be...all she said was that it's $150 for a whole apartment to be done like when some one moves out. I guess the consequences could have been worse. I have to take responsibility for this because it was my cat that did it. But Grrrr.
I told her we need our door replaced so the cat does not get out again....and she said oh if the screen is ripped than you will be responsible for that and I said no the screen is not ripped the door will not close!
Our front screen is ripped because of my kid and my cat and I know we will have to take care of that ourselves because it is our fault.

mammag replied: I still think it is a bit ridiculous that he kept the cat in there that long without anyway for it to go....
I would keep on her about the door.
aspenblue1 replied: Wow I think that is ridiculous since he kept the cat in his apartment with no way to go to the potty.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Ya Jeanie that was my issue about the whole thing too! Why didnt he return our cat sooner!?
I will most definetly keep on her about the door......even if our fix it guy just quit on Tuesday. Either she will find a way for it to get done or I'll go buy a new one myself and BILL HER for the d*mn door!!
J-rod replied: what did she say about him keeping the cat for three days inside with nowhere to go pee
AlexsPajamaMama replied: She said that Corey thought it was a RACOOON at first and it hid under his bed for 1 day and basiclly that he has no blame in any of this at all.
I just want it done and over with and don't want it to be a big fight.....it for real has me soo stressed out.
J-rod replied: is he that DUMB? im osrry this happened but yea i agree....get it over with as easy and quickly as possible
Bee_Kay replied:
A raccoon???? and it hid under the bed for one day???
What an idiot!! If I thought that there was a raccoon in my house... I'd be out the door and on the phone with Animal Control.
He's full of crap.
Sorry you are going through this. I can understand you just wanting it done and over with!
aspenblue1 replied: That is crazy. If I thought a racoon was in my apartmetn I would flip out. Oh well I am sure its worht it to have Coal back safe and sound.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: This cat is costing me more money than I paid for him! $100+ Vet Bill and medicine just to find out nothing was wrong with him and Now this carpet cleaning bill that I'm not looking forward to seeing
And we are supposed to be getting a new little kitten from my cousin in a few weeks.......
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Yes in the end it is worth having my kitty back. We got him the day after DH and I got married and he is like a kid to us.
lisar replied: Yea she sounds mean.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: She is usually so nice to me too and I thought she was going to let me explain everything and then she would work something out...but she already planned on billing us for this before she even heard my story.
holley79 replied: Well hope your door gets fixed.
J-rod replied: i got a feeling he wanted to keep the cat.....but maybe it was toom much for him...and then pee on the carpet he decided to give cat back. imo
AlexsPajamaMama replied: lol maybe!
MommyToAshley replied: So sorry.
TheOaf66 replied: just gotta love them landlords, just want your rent but don't want to repair anything
CantWait replied: Ok I'm sorry, now I sorta understand, what a dumba** he is
luvmykids replied: Same here
jaytrevjax replied: O.K. So he thought it was a racoon for a day (whatever!) but, didn't you say Coal was gone for 3 days? What about the other 2 days? Wasn't the pee in his living room, not under the bed?
ashtonsmama replied: WHAT?!? That's ridiculous! I'm so sorry Michelle....is there anything you can do to let him know it's not really your fault?!?
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I tried to go see him and talk about this and ask a few questions like: -how exactly my cat got into his apartment, and who's fault that was -why he kept my cat there for as long as he did and not return him sooner and who's fault it was that he kept him for 3 days -why he didnt approach me first to see if I could help him get the smell out before filing a complaint
but he was not home and I thought about talking to Val the PM about all that too to see if she had more info but I decided to let it go, stop stressing about it, and just pay the money and be done. It should be under $100 and I'm hoping its only like $50-$75. Any more than that I will have to speak up and get more info as to who's fault this is and maybe just pay half the cost. Its been driving me nutso for 24 hours now And DH doesnt know much about what has gone on today cuz he was in bed for the day when I talked to Valerie this morning. But he isn't the confrontational type or the stresser....so I think he will just be like whatever and pay it, life goes on.
