So...

Boys r us wrote: Saturday night we had HORRIBLE winds here..I mean insane!!!!!

Anyhow, I woke up sunday morning and walked outside to get the paper and well, I just HAPPENED to notice the flipping basketball goal..as in the STEEL POLE, the backboard and the hoop itself, laying across the trunk of my BRAND NEW CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It smashed in the whole trunk area...
I was so mad! It's one of those portable goals..like on wheels, but it's regulation size and it has a base on the bottom of it that is filled with concrete stuff to prevent it from moving!!!

mckayleesmom replied: Thats horrible...maybe you will have to dig a hole and set it in there...then put cement over that.

Elle replied: Holy poop! How horrible! I agree with Brianne, you should dig a hole and put the thing there... Maybe that way it won't move again!

jcc64 replied: We have one of those basketball hoops, have had it for years. We live on top of a mountain, and had the same winds up here this w/e (where are you, btw?). We have never had a problem like that. Did you fill it all the way up? I hope you have insurance. If your car insurance won't cover it, your homeowners should. good luck!

amynicole21 replied: Ack!!! ohmy.gif Oh, I would be so upset sad.gif

I was just going to second what jcc64 said - homeowners should cover it. I'm sorry.

Boys r us replied: I'm in VA.

Well, I spent all day yesterday at home battling with the isurance companies..homeowners said..no the car insurance will cover it..car insurance said..no..homeowners will cover it...and backa nd forth..finally pinned the car insurance to covering it under the comprehensive portion of the policy..so at least it won't effect my rate with them.
Graaaa..it did 3,000 in damage to the car..ubelievable..huh..3k worth of damage from a BASKETBALL GOAL!! LOL

coasterqueen replied: Yikes! Sorry to hear that sad.gif That really stinks! There must have been very high winds to do that. ohmy.gif

Glad you were able to get it covered without raising your insurance premiums wink.gif

jen replied: OMG! I can't believe that it did that much damage! Well I can! things like that always add up somehow to be a fortune! I am glad you got it taken care of! All of that from a Basketball goal! huh.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: ohmy.gif OH man that stinks.

I cant believe you had to battle to find out who would cover it....Comprehensive all the way....Okay I am not in VA but that how it would be covered on Ohio.

jem0622 replied: That just stinks! Sorry to hear this! We had bad winds also.

Julie

Lily replied: Wow, that's some strong wind! Sorry about the trunk of your car. That really sucks. Glad you insurance is going to pay for it though.

megsmommie replied: I'm sorry about that. How terrible. I know how the high winds go. We used to live in Texas, Louisiana and now back in California, and all 3 places i have lived, we get extremly high winds storms at least once a month.
I'm sorry about the damage to your car. Gla dto read that the insurance company will pick it up. Hoping you have better luck from here on out thumb.gif

A&A'smommy replied: OMG my brother has one of those only they keep it filled with water (actually it has been like that since sam go it like six years ago EWWW) but i understand what you mean, they have to keep it laid down when it isnt being used (which is all the time) so it wont get knocked over on something or someone lol. UGH but that sucks for you!
