Snakes in the house!
HuskerMom wrote: Ok today Dh had the garage door open and the door going inside also open. Well he thought he saw a snake go inside out of the corner of his eye. But he wasn't sure so he went to check. When he got downstairs he saw this 2 foot garter snake halfway across the living room with our cat Ruger chasing it. Well he caught it and brought it outside and let it go. Neat looking snake but not welcome in the house.
Then later we were in the basement working on the pipes. We have a hole in the wall that a pipe goes through in our bedroom. I saw Ruger sitting by it just staring. I thought it was kinda weird but forgot about it. A few hours later before Dh went to work he went downstairs to check on the pipes he had been souldering. Ruger was in our room watching a snake that was coiled up on the floor. And the way the snake was acting I think Ruger had been playing with it. So we let that one go outside too.
I am so hoping there are no more in there. I probably won't sleep very good tonight.
flirtycuddle replied: I used to have a ball python so to me snakes are cool. I would have caught it and put it in a cage and let it go later lol. Hope there are no more in the house playing hide and seek with ur cat.

PrairieMom replied: I would have literally died on the spot.
Twelve Volt Man replied: Clearly, you have one option. Move immediately.
ZandersMama replied: <<<<<<<crawling around on the floor looking in all the dark places
eeeeeeeek
My3LilMonkeys replied: My mom has a 7 foot blacksnake that comes in her basement sometimes... I think it's really cool. One time if came up in the bathroom and my sister's BF tried to get it out with a broom.
lovemy2 replied: I would soooo be staying at a hotel tonite....
Mommy2Isabella replied: Im with PrarieMom on that one ... YUCK
Calimama replied: OMG same here.
moped replied: I would have died!
DEAD
NO QUESTION
I was jsut outside and spotted what seemed like a rahter large spider crawling down the house (total size my fingernail) LOL.....so I ran in the garage and grabbed a bottle of armour all and sprayed the hell out of it until it died!
A snake - SHOOT ME
redchief replied: I like snakes... They're awesome. That being said, I don't think they make good house guests. I hope that's the end of the critters. Now, let's talk about that soldering pipes thing.
HuskerMom replied: I like snakes too but not in my house! Oh and soldering pipes sucks!
redchief replied: lol... Soldering pipes is like a cash register to me...
Twelve Volt Man replied: I've said it before, but it bears repeating, since some people haven't yet realized my wisdom. ALL SNAKES MUST DIE. That is all. Carry on.

So far this year I haven't had any in the garage like last year BUT Colt can tell me every rock, bush and piece of wood that is home to a snake of some sort. UGH. If I actually come across one I will be outta here before I can even think about it.
MyBabeMaddie replied: Wow, just wow I would have peed my pants
CantWait replied: Hope you got them all. I wouldn't be sleeping either that's for sure.
MommyToAshley replied: If I had that snake in my house, I would have no problem sleeping... because I would be in the comfort of a luxury hotel suite. LOL!
YIKES... snakes.... YIKES.... I am a big chicken, and like the others, I would have died right there.
HuskerMom replied: I actually slept better last night than I thought I would. I just kept telling myself that snakes want cooler places rather than warm, and I made sure Keith's and our rooms were warm so no snake would want to go it them.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I know that God created all things, but I'm not convinced he didn't goof up on snakes.
flirtycuddle replied: Not that this will make you feel any better but most snakes that I know about would rather be in a warm spot espically if it just ate. The warm helps it digest the food lol. Im not sure about garter snakes though. I've just owned pythons and boas. They make some cool pets though
Jackie012007 replied: my sentiments exactly - you are THE MAN!!!
My parents live in the middle of nowhere and we get snakes in our basement (now converted into my dad's dog grooming shop, yyyeah that goes over really well) all the time - garters are the only prevalent kind in central NY. Apparently they like the coolness and the darkness in the summer... I've had MORE than one run-in with them in my short lifetime and I hate hate hate hate them!!!!!!!! I would have PEED MY PANTS, screamed and fainted!! Oh god do I have a phobia of snakes!!!!!!
Boys r us replied: How right you are!!! I totally would have died!!! TOTALLY!
luvmykids replied: I'm definitely no expert, I try to know as little as possible about snakes but it might depend on the type of snake....I know around here in the peak of summer the rattlers only come out in the cool of the mornings and evenings and hide out during the day. But at the same time, in the fall, we had a bullsnake in the garage and everyone said it was because it was a nice warm spot to curl up in.
