Smart Politics or Playing Dirty? - What do you think?

MommyToAshley wrote: I'm not sure how many of you listen to Republican talk radio, or how many of you have heard about this, but Rush Limbaugh and few other conservative radio personalities were urging Republicans to cross party lines and vote for Hillary in the primaries just so that the Democrat candidates would continue to fight amongst themselves. It was a given McCain would win the nomination so those Republicans that did vote for Hillary wouldn't affect the Republican nomination by voting a Democratic ticket.

While I may cross party lines to vote for a candidate I like, I would never do it for this reason. I think it is playing dirty... it's cheating... and goes against what the system is meant to do -- Elect a person that represents the people. I am ashamed for those republicans that felt they had to cheat.

gr33n3y3z replied: lol its funny to watch the Democrat candidates beat each other up Its very comical emlaugh.gif

I forgot to answer your question
I dont like it when ppl. play dirty politics but it happends they all do it but some just a lesser degree then others. And just think we have to pick one of these ppl. blink.gif
Well we dont have to but you know what I mean

ZandersMama replied: rolling_smile.gif i was up until 3am this morning watching to see who would win texas. And I live in Canada tongue.gif The way its being played out is like a soap opera.

Kaitlin'smom replied: well when I went to vote they asked if I was rep or dem, they were tring to keep tabs on just that, how many were crossing over.

I dont like the dirty play. but then again I expect it.

coasterqueen replied: Unfortunately smart politics IS playing dirty wink.gif. Didn't you know that?

Yeah, I heard about this and while it may have been tempting for a tiny second, I'd never do it. My reason is I just can't vote for someone I don't believe in and if they win I'd have to kick myself in the rear for at least 4 years because I voted for them. happy.gif

Politics is dirty. If anyone thinks it's not you'll have a rude awakening. Unfortunately even those pure and new to the system will eventually be eaten by the pack of vampires and become one themself wink.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
Yes, but this the your every-day citizens that are voting and playing dirty, not the politicians.

A&A'smommy replied: while its cheating and wrong in so many ways.. I actually think its a good idea but for other reasons that I wont mention.

my2monkeyboys replied: From what I've heard the democrats did the same in voting for McCain. It's sad that pretty much all politicians are the same = they do what it takes to win.
On both sides I don't agree with it. I know I could never do it.

coasterqueen replied:
Yes, but think of most those "every-day" citizens - what kind of people are they? They are listening to Rush, most of them have more interest in politics than the "every day" citizen. I know I'm not explaining this right, but I still view it the way I did previously.

kit_kats_mom replied: You know, I listened to Rush occasionally in the car...you know, I wanted to know my enemy rolling_smile.gif

However, I've not listened to him since he was going off about the parents of little boys playing in toy kitchens. He was saying that basically, that's the problem with our society and we are raising little sissy boys. rolleyes.gif I'd been incensed with him before (Often) but that was the final straw...he's lost his bananas. wacko.gif

jcc64 replied: Rush Limbaugh is an amoral, racist drug addict. Nothing he says surprises me, and to answer your question, I think the stategy stinks, but is hardly surprising. I have too much respect for the act of citizenship that voting consciously requires, to play these kinds of games, which is exactly what you're saying, Dee Dee.
If he truly believed in the viability of McCain's candidacy (whom he's actively campaigned against as "anti-Conservative"), he wouldn't feel the need to play games to ensure his success.
Politics is dirty, but that doesn't mean we all have to jump in the cess pool, kwim?

Crystalina replied:
Consider the source....Rush Limbaugh...Ha! dry.gif

TLCDad replied:
Nah they only asked so they will give you the right ballot. So if you got a republican ballot you would of not been able to vote for Clinton or Obama.

But technically they (the workers there) could tell though if you were a registered republican and asked for a democrate ballot. At least I think it shows that on their book they have.
