Sleeping Habits

Boo&BugsMom wrote: Anyone's children have weird sleeping habits? Tanner has one, and I hope he doesn't have to rest in K as I fear he will get teased. He lays on his belly and bounces his head against his pillow. That is his ritual to get to sleep, and when he wakes up, and sometimes randomly in the middle of the night. It's weird. One weekend when we went camping, I woke up to our trailor shaking back and forth...it was Tanner bouncing his head. Anyone else? Please tell me I'm not alone in this. Aiden doesn't have anything too crazy yet, but I have noticed he likes to pull his hair on the back of his head while he falls asleep...not hard, almost just like he needs to hold it. What is with my kids?

holley79 replied: huh.gif No the only thing with Annika is she has to keep pushing the glo worm belly till she is out. emlaugh.gif Oh also she has to have a sippy cup of water or else she refuses to sleep. rolleyes.gif

momofone replied: When my daughter was little she used to rub her nose with pacifer in her hand to put herself to sleep. LOL laugh.gif

hoosier momma replied: If laying on his belly, my son also does the head bounce or kicking his legs against the bed until he is asleep. If laying on his back, he flops his head from side to side repetitively while rubbing the back of his hand on the pillow.

boyohboyohboy replied: jakob holds a sippy cup, all night...

and caleb has always had to have his back "tickled" until he falls asleep.
just one of those things...

Calimama replied: Nope, but Bella can fall asleep any and everywhere... even sitting up. tongue.gif

lovemy2 replied:
Yep - Dylan kicks his legs too - it sounds like a herd of elephants over the monitor tongue.gif

Isn't head banging pretty normal (not that Tanner is head banging) but don't some kids bang their heads - like on the crib rails or something else and its actually normal? Can't remember where I heard that or if I heard it was normal or not normal unsure.gif

Farelle replied: Both my boys fall asleep holding (pulling on?) tags. My older boy has rubbed the tag on his teddy bear so much over the last 3 years that it's no longer there, but he still has to hold that particular spot when he falls asleep. My little guy pulls on the tags on his taggie book while he falls asleep. What is it with kids and tags? tongue.gif

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: Well,,, Sam and Abby dont really have any strange sleeping habits (as of yet) but my DH has to move his right foot in a circular motion until he falls asleep. Drives me nuts! wacko.gif (he's done this since he was a child)

moped replied: Jack kicks his legs too

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Wesley does. When I lie him down, he rolls over to his belly and puts his tush in the air. Like a little curled up mouse. He does it every time! I would imagine his knees would get tired all bent up.

I had this thing when I was young where I would rub my leg across the mattress so that it would make sound. I hated silence. It scared me. So to get to sleep, I would rub my leg back and forth to hear the swooshing sound. My leg would get so sore, but I was too afraid of the quiet to stop. blush.gif I would just fall asleep eventually while doing it.

Bamamom replied: Tripp plays with an my ear.
