Since when do business's disguise - their phone numbers?

Is that where you have to identify yourself on a recording then the phone will ring on the intended's end, and they will hear the recording and can determine whether to answer or not??

Huh...our bill isn't due till Tuesday.......I know in Kentucky we got reminders every month from the phone company. Its kind of nice, but they used their real names on caller ID.
