Showing off your kids - off last post about anti kid book....
luvbug00 wrote: I was just wondering if and when you talk to people ( co workers, old friends or just people in general) how often do you whip out the wallet ( or cell) and show offf the pics of your kids??
I never have..I have them of course but i never make a point of showing them not unless I'm asked.. I dunno ..
kayla's mama replied: I don't show them off either anymore. Of course when she was first born and still young I did but not anymore!!!
MommyToAshley replied: I do if they do... LOL! Or, if they ask.
It's hard to resist the temptation to whip out those photos all the time, but I usually wait until asked.
Bee_Kay replied: I still do that and my kids are 13 and 14. Mainly to people I haven't seen for quite awhile. Somehow the subject of children always gets brought up.
I miss the cutsie baby/toddler pics though.
Now it's a football pic and cheerleader pic
luvmykids replied: Only when asked, but I always do get asked!
C&K*s Mommie replied: only when I am asked about them, do I.
But my dad..... my dad literally shows off the girls' pics EVERYWHERE, people in the grocery store he frequents know him, and have seen the girls numerous times!! Can you tell he is proud of his first grandchildren??? He will show without even being prompted, I don't mind, he is proud of them.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I don't carry any photos in my wallet, but I email photos of Wil to friends and family ALL the time! I'm sure some of my friends, especially those without kids, get sick of it. But oh well. I have a girlfriend who once complained to me about another friend of our's who was first to have a child. She said "all she could talk about the whole visit was her daughter, it got old". I was shocked! And I didn't even have kids myself yet, but I don't have a problem at all hearing about other people's kids. I can completely relate to how proud they are of their own kids, so maybe that's why it's easier for me to listen.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Tay is always with me so anyone who sees me sees her... No need for pics! I am always emailing pictures to friends and family that are too far away to see us regularly so I guess in that respect I don't wait to 'show her off '
mom21kid2dogs replied: I'm always happy to whip out the photos when asked. Stephen, on the other hand, never waits to be asked. He cracks me up!! My sweet husband~the stalker!
MyLuvBugs replied: ITA! But then again, my kid is usually with me, so why look at pics when they can see the real thing. lol
ions_momma replied: I do when I am asked too.
3xsthefun replied: I only do when I am asked.
CosmetologyMommy replied: I do not show pics unless they see them first and say, "oh is that ur son?" or they ask to see them.
Edward's Mommy replied: I usually have Edward with me, so there's no need for me to carry pictures!
My3LilMonkeys replied: I too wait until asked, but usually have one or both kids with me so I rarely get asked.
My mom is one of the psycho grandmas though - when we come in the grocery store she works at EVERYONE who works there (and several regular customers) knows my kids b/c my mom shows off pics so much. If we come in while she is on duty she knows we are there even before we see here - someone always tells her so that she doesn't miss us.
Nina J replied: If it's a family member who we don't see much and they come over to stay, I'll usually get the photo album out and show them pictures. But they hardly see Emily, Chris or I so I don't think they mind. With other people, I don't unless they ask.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I do if asked.
aspenblue1 replied: I do when I am asked.
holley79 replied: Nope I don't show her off either. Everyone at work/ family has the photobucket and MSN links so they just go there to see her.
