She's throwing up, I'm FREAKING out!!!!!

coasterqueen wrote: OMG, Kylie woke up this morning projectile vomiting all over her and I and her bed. Yesterday the sitter said she had 3 loose stools but not diarrhea. I'm freaking out here guys. I was just thinking yesterday how lucky we were to never have had anything like this and I guess I jinxed us. sad.gif

What do I do? Right now she's playing like everything is normal, but she is shivering. She has NO fever though. I gave her some tylenol just in case.

UGH that was not a good way to wake up at 5:30 a.m. I knew something was wrong last night because she went to bed at 10 am which is about 2 hours past when she normally does, but the kicker is she didn't wake until 5:00 a.m. this morning to nurse! That's 7 hours, she's never done that EVER.

Please send p&pt's our way too. I sure hope she gets over this fast. We were supposed to have a huge cookout tonight, spent LOTS of money on food we are not going to have now and Kylie was going to spend her 1st overnight trip with Gama and Papa. I hate sickness. sad.gif

ediep replied: Oh NO!!!!!

I sure hope she doesn't have what Jay has!!!

Good Luck!

Feel Better soon sweetie!!

mummy2girls replied: AWWWWW poor girl! I hope she feels better soon. P&PT coming your way~~~~~~~~

Try giving her pedilyte if the vomitting and diarreah gets to much! Jenna had something like this a couple weeks ago and it only lasted 3 days... Jenna never had a fever either. Just vomit and runs....

amynicole21 replied: Oh no Karen! I sure hope it's nothing serious... I'm sure it's just a little bug and she'll be back to herself in no time. Keeping you both in my thoughts! grouphug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: awwww poor baby! I hope she doesn't have that virus. (((((BIG HUGS)))) for mommy and baby! I'm sending you lots of P&PT'S!

MommyToAshley replied: Oh Karen, I am sorry, I hope Kylie is feeling better. Is she still vomiting or is she doing bettter now? Is she nursing and keeping that down?

Sending some GET WELL VIBES and P&PT! grouphug.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Thanks everyone. I thought I would pop in and tell you how she's doing so far. wink.gif She slept 3 more hours, but that's probably because of the tylenol. She's acting like her old self though, like she'

well, forget what I just wrote, as soon as I got so far she puked again. sad.gif Gotta go.

mummy2girls replied: Oh no poor little girl! I hope she gets begtter soon.. ((HUGS))) to you and kylie.

kit_kats_mom replied: When K had this, they decided it was the rotavirus later, I was told to just let her nurse in sips and to offer water in sips until the vomiting slowed down. With K she wasn't able to hold anything down for about 24 hours. Then I nursed her as much as she wanted. Keep towels handy though because she still barfed about very 2nd or 3rd time she nursed for 3 days. The vomiting ended totally after 4 days and the diarreah was over in a week or so. The key is to keep her hydrated. If she shows any of the signs of dehydration or is just not acting like your little darling, takeher in. The dehydration is very dangerous.

I'm so sorry she is feeling bad. Just try to concentrate on her and let everything else slide right now. sad.gif

chloe&tysmommy replied: ohmy.gif Oh no! Poor Kylie grouphug.gif

pinka_star replied: ohmy.gif OH MY GOSH KAREN!! I'm so sorry, I hope Kylie gets better real soon. grouphug.gif Sending lots of P&PT's your way!!!

coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone. She's sleeping again. Dh took her for a ride in the car to get her asleep again. All she wanted to do was play, lol, but she's asleep now.

The doc told us not to feed her solids for 8 hours after she threw up and just nurse. So that's what I've been doing. She really doesn't want to nurse that much and doesn't want water at all. She's actually fine when she doesn't have solids foods.

She really isn't have diarrhea either. She had "loose" stools yesterday, but that's common with BF babies. She had one loose one this morning, but that's it. So I'm glad I''m not dealing with that. rolleyes.gif But I'm getting concerned because she really isn't wetting diapers all that much. So we'll see.

When she threw up the second time, I felt so bad for her. I immediately put her in the tub because she was a mess and she just started crying and saying "mess, mess". She's at a stage she doesn't like to be real dirty and I also think she felt bad for making such a mess. rolleyes.gif Silly kid. DH and I just kept telling her it was alright, it wasn't her fault.

So I'm hoping when 8 hours are up and we give her solids, that she can keep them down. Crossing my fingers on that. Since she's only thrown up after we've given her solids, and she hasn't had diarhhea I'm hoping this is just a small stomach bug and will be gone soon. The doc was confident that it was a 12 hour thing and at most a 24 hour thing.

I just feel so bad that she's sick, and she's running around having fun. Isn't that just wrong! LOL!

kimberley replied: sad.gif poor baby!! i hope it is just a 24hr bug and she is better very soon. big (((hugs)))) to you both! grouphug.gif grouphug.gif

paradisemommy replied: uh oh..poor kylie..k

i've got my fingers crossed that it's a 12 hour bug and that's all!! GET WELL, Kylie!!

aspenblue1 replied: I hope she feels better soon but with Isabella the dirreah started about 24 hours after she was puking. I hope she doesn't have the rotavirus. If she does don't make the mistake I made if she isnt acting right take her in no matter what they say. you may also want to try some pedilyte.

coasterqueen replied: Thanks for the advice Carrie, I will definately keep an eye on her. She hasn't thrown up since early yesterday, but she doesn't want solids either right now. She is nursing like crazy though and keeping the breastmilk down so that's a good sign. She's sleeping a lot. She has pooped today but it was not diarhhea, it was a looser stool than normal, but well in the realm of a breastfed baby poop. So that makes me happy too. But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. It has been 24 hours since she last threw up, so maybe we are in the clear.

aspenblue1 replied: That is great news. I hope she back to normal soon.

jem0622 replied: Sounds like the rotavirus. Gabe had it. He puked for a few days then stopped puking but kept up with the diarreah. She just needs lots of snuggles and just make sure that she drinks.

HUGS

Boys r us replied: Ohh poor little baby! I think that is the worst thing eever, when a little one has the throw ups! I sure hope she's feeling lots better by now!

coasterqueen replied:
You know what? I might be speaking too soon, but I think it is over with. We'll see. I honestly don't think it's the rotavirus because she doesn't have diarrhea. She has loose stools like a breastfed baby does, and that's normal, so I don't count that as diarrhea. wink.gif

She ate for the first time last night and kept it down. I'm just glad she only threw up 2x. She was in a great mood all weekend, though. So actually (knock on wood) this wasn't so bad. It was just 5:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday (7 hours) that was a bit scary because I didn't know if she was going to throw up again, but keeping food away from her kept her from throwing up.

Thanks for thinking about us. wink.gif

amynicole21 replied: Great! I hope she's out of the woods for good thumb.gif
