Saturday is...
Maddie&EthansMom wrote: my first Weight Watchers meeting! I'm so excited! They have a New Year's special where they are waving the registration fee. DH isn't thrilled at all about me joining. He thinks I just need to get out and walk. I think I need motivation and a healthier eating habit. The meeting is at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. It isn't going to take anything out of his day (he is off this Saturday) so I don't know why he is so bothered by me attending the meetings.
I am going to try to go to 2 meetings a month. They are $12/meeting. For those of you who have done WW...how many meetings did you attend? I really hope this works for me. I'm ready to do something!
chloe&tysmommy replied: My SIL is doing weight watchers and she has been for awhile. She has 3 kids and was on the heavier side but this last year that she's been doing that she's lost a LOT of weight! She looks amazing!!! So from seeing it with my own eyes (so to speak) I'm a believer
She's always counting how many points her meals are LOL
coasterqueen replied: YAY! Have fun!
When I did WW I only went to one meeting because I just couldn't afford the meetings. I went to the first one, got the jist of it, bought the books and lost the 40 pounds on my own and DH lost all his .
kit_kats_mom replied: I loved WW and did pretty well with their program. I felt TONS better almost immediately. You can make it as complex or as easy as you want too. That's what I liked the most.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: This is what I was hoping for. I didn't really want to go to the meetings. I was hoping it was possible to just get the books, etc and do it on your own. Aren't the meetings for motivational purposes? Do the books cost extra or do you get them when you join?
I also want Scotty to do this with me.
coasterqueen replied: I guess the meetings can be motivational, I only went to one. I felt weird sharing my feelings with a bunch of strangers. I'd rather share then here but I also had my DH for support. Although the fart was losing weight quicker than me.
You can get a little pamphlet for free but I bought two books, might have cost $20 to $30 total including the meeting fee, but I saved money in long run though . Some swear by the meetings, though. I think it all depends on your personality.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yep, men lose weight faster. I'm not good about sharing feelings with strangers, either. I will wait til Saturday to decide all that, though. My mom has had a lot of luck on WW when she sticks to it. I'm hoping she will join when I do so she can be my accountability partner.
kit_kats_mom replied: I went to the meetings but I rarely stayed for them. I needed the accountablity of weekly weigh-ins. I usually left after I weighed in though.
moped replied: I hope it works for you - I hear it is great and you will succeed!!!!!!!
MomToMany replied: That's great Aimee! I hope it works for you! There's nothing like that around here. I know I need more motivatin and to change my eating habits as well. I snack out of boredom as well as stress; when things get too stressful, I head straight to the kitchen. It's also hard trying to find the time to exercise, another thing I really need to do.
Someone please come kick me in the rear to get going!!! I need lots of help!!!
ediep replied: thats great! My mom used to go to meetings every week and she was very successful with WW
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I am the same way! I snack out of boredom all the time. I just need to get moving and stay busy. It's not like I dont' have enough to keep me busy! I have time to exercise, I just don't want to do it b/c I don't know where to start.
You can always do WW online or WW at home. Check out their website! They will send you the info to your house.
smullin replied: I did weight watchers for awhile with my mom and sister. I still to this day look at food as points. It helps. Specially if you are a snacker like me. You will realize alot going to weight watchers. I know for my mom and sister they love going weekly because it keeps them motivated and on track. They have a competition with each other. Whoever looses more weight pays for the other lunch after the meeting (they go at 9:30). They have fun together doing it. It is nice to have someone else so I would go and see if you can meet some people at the meetings. If you don't have anyone of don't meet anyone that isn't a problem I would go by myself and my mom went by herself for months. The lady who does the meeting by us that my mom just loves is so nice and motivational. She has so much energy. She use to be over 300lbs. and now she weighs about 125. She looks great. Along with the meetings being motivational you learn little tips each week. My mom and sister go each week to the meetings. They give you no weigh in slip so if you feel you gained weight and don't want it tracked you give it to them and you don't weigh in. I think it is great program that teaches you alot about food. I personally lost the 10lbs I wanted to loose in two weeks at weight watchers. I eneded up not even eating the points I was suppose to because I found to many things I liked that were low in points and I ate all day long. Didn't starve like other diets. Was always full. Sorry I will quit now but I think it would be good for you to go to the classes at least at first every week (unless money is a issue).
Sarah 14 weeks today !!!!!!!
