Sad news story - *losses mentioned*
grapfruit wrote: OMG! Did you hear about this? The poor kids, that poor baby. I'm glad she's ok, but wow.
4 people found hanging
I think if I felt that way, I would ship my kids off somewhere else first...
stella6979 replied: It's sickening to know what some people are capable of. I still don't understand why the selfish people that kill themselves always take others with them.
Miranda1127 replied: omg, thats just horrible

Calimama replied: That is beyond awful.
grapfruit replied: I see those stories and just gasp. How can people do that sort of stuff???
jcc64 replied: I don't think it's always possible to understand the behavior of mentally ill people. And clearly, you'd have to be mentally ill to kill your own children.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: It has been on the news all day here....At least she took her own life because it seems more and more women are getting away with it with nothing more than a few months in the mental hospital....It is so sad and SICK that the lives of these kids (and I am not speaking of only these poor babies) are reduced to 'poor mommy was just overwelmed'
BabyOwen427 replied: There is no excuse for this. They can claim insanity all they want but I think they should be imprisoned for this. Good riddence to the mom. Ya know she's in H-E-double hockey sticks.
gr33n3y3z replied: I was getting blood work done at the hospital and I saw that on the TV OMG so sad
Mommy2Isabella replied: That is very sad!!
There are too many women killing their children, and getting away with it for pleading insanity. URG ... thats one of the soap boxes I own ...
jcc64 replied: Do people really "get away with it?" By getting away with it, do you mean- incarceration in a mental hospital vs prison? Because to me, I don't really see much of a difference. Loss of freedom is loss of freedom. I'm sure it's no vacation in a state psychiatric facility. I am by no means defending the actions of these women- but I haven't heard of a single case where someone "got off" for killing her children. The woman who drowned her kids in a lake- she's got life w/o parole, the Yates woman- she's in for life. Does it really matter where? I suppose some people mean that they escape being charged as a capital offense- but as I said earlier, I find it hard to believe that any completely sane person would kill her own children.
lovemykiddies replied: I agree with a lot of what jcc64 said. I doubt many people get off for killing their children. A mental hospital is no picnic.
From a different point of view, I also think there is a difference between mental illness (which likely caused this tragedy) and evil. I do believe some people are evil, and it is different than having a mental sickness. It might be an unpopular opinion, because it's from a spiritual perspective.
So, so, sad. I've been thinking about this story all day.
jcc64 replied: I agree that some people are evil, though I don't necessarily ascribe it to a supernatural force, such as the devil. Some animals commonly kill their young- in humans, I think it's a dark impulse that bubbles up to the surface for a variety of reasons that we may never completely understand. It's tragic, and my heart bleeds for those babies. But this is a case where whatever punishment the justice system delivers pales in comparison to the nightmare in this woman's head for the rest of her life, should she even still be capable of having a conscience.
