SOOOO Proud of Ashley....
MommyToAshley wrote: I am on the board for Ashley's preschool. Last night we had an appreciation dinner for the teachers. Ashley's teacher was there, and she told me that Ashley is the most well-behaved child. She said that she can always count on Ashley to be the one to do what she is supposed to do and follow the rules. She said that is unusual for being the youngest one in the class. She said Ashley is one smart cookie and it was a pleasure having her in the class. I was just beaming with pride... I had to share with someone. I am so proud of my baby girl.
Edited to add... She told me that at group time they asked the kids what their favorite summer activity is and Ashley siad, "I like family time... like riding bicycles or going to the park for picnics"

redchief replied: I would say I was surprised at that news, but we already know Ashley is a sweet, smart little girl by all you tell us about her. Kudos to you and her!!!
Aside: Your preschool has a board?
Kaitlin'smom replied: You should be proud, she is VERY smart. I have always been impressed by her inteligence, not to mention she is so adorable.
MommyToAshley replied: Yes, the preschool encourages parental involvement. The board is comprised of the director, a representative from the church (it's a faith based preschool), a member of the school districts board, and a parent representative from each class. We don't determine the curriculum, but we do set policies, determine what fundraisers to do, how to spend the money from the fundraisers, and recently we had input on the hiring of a new teacher and setting up a new evaluation process. And, most importantly we are a voice for the other parents in the class. I love being involved both on the board and in the classroom. As Ashley gets older, there will be less opportunities to be involved at the level I am now. Other than the fact that this preschool had a very good reputation, the main reason I chose it is because it really does encourage parents to be involved.
MommyToAshley replied:
Thank you... you are too sweet.
DansMom replied: Oh, that is great, Dee Dee!
Coincidence: At Daniel's preschool I'm on the board for next year and was on the committee to hire a new teacher as well. I love the involvement, even though lately with working FT it has kept me from posting much.
MommyToAshley replied: I completely understand. I haven't been around as much myself. It is time consuming, but so worth it. In a few years, we won't have these same opportunities.

Your Ashley will make a wonderful student all through her years
