SAHMs - Do you...

AlexsPajamaMama wrote: ...get up and shower and get dressed and put make up on to start your day
or do you wear pjs around the house?

MyLuvBugs replied: depends on the day for me. Somedays, I get up early and have a ton of energy, so I shower, get dressed, and actually blow-dry my hair (that's a luxury), but otherdays.....like today.....I just roll out of bed, put a t-shirt and shorts on, and start the day. It'd be nice to get a shower in everyday, but that's not always possible. smile.gif

luvmykids replied: I *try* to do at least enough that I can answer the door without embarrassment but some days (like today) I didn't make it farther than sweats. I get a lot more done around the house when I get dressed and the whole shebang though.

mckayleesmom replied: rolling_smile.gif I usually get up when the kids wake up....so I usually am in my pj's until they take a nap....I try to be decent by 2:30...in case the mailman comes and I have a package.....

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
I have to agree with you, I am more motivated to get things done if Im at least showered.
Today its rainy and yucky out so we are in for the day
I showered and put on PJ pants and a tank top.

Momof3inMe replied: I have a busy morning from 6:15 until 8:15 so I don't get right up and take a shower and all that. I like to get my housework done in the morning in my pj's. I always get a shower it just may not be at the same time every day. I like to shower in the afternoon before the boys get home from school. I feel like it gives me my second wind of the day.

MamaJAM replied: I'm up at 6am - showered and dressed and getting the kids breakfast by 6:45 on weekdays. With 3 kids in school who need me to drive them there - our days start early.

Even when I didn't have to rush anyone off to school - I almost always got up and dressed before DH left for work in the morning. I don't feel 'awake' unless I've had my shower and if I'm in PJs all day I just feel lazy.

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
I only feel lazy if Im not showered, but if Im in PJs getting things done around the house I dont feel lazy.

If we have places to go in the morning, I get up at 6:30 when DH gets home from work and shower before he goes to bed

kit_kats_mom replied: I always take a shower and get dressed. I rarely wear pj's all day and if I'm going somewhere, I'll put on mascara and lipgloss. Otherwise it's hair in a pony and au naturale'

I have almost exactly 20 minutes to get ready. From the time Peep starts to when I'ts over. I have to be done or the kids go NUTS

MamaJAM replied:
True...if I'm getting stuff done - no matter what I'm wearing - at least I'm getting things done.

I was simply saying that FOR ME, if I'm in my PJs all day _I_ feel lazy. I wasn't commenting on anyone else.

ashtonsmama replied: laugh.gif
Wellllllllllllllll, I'd have to say 90% PJ's until about 1 PM, but I do get dressed earlier when we have to go run errands and such!

I'm definitely a lazy one when it comes to getting out of PJ's!

1lilpeanut2love replied: I stay in my pj's basically all day. My SO has the car so I don't get to get out. I sometimes take a shower if we have to go somewhere we he gets home. I sometimes don't get a shower until nighttime. I do feel really lazy though when I'm in my pj's. wacko.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
smile.gif Sorry if I sounded offensive....
I was also just saying how it is for _me_ smile.gif

3xsthefun replied: Before Kaitlynn started going to school, I use to stay in my PJ's until 1 pm or so.

But now I have to get up and get dressed. I don't take a shower everyday though.

On, the weekends or days Kaitlynn is off from school sometimes I will stay in my PJ's for half of the day.

kayla's mama replied: I'm always in my pj's. When I shower I put clean one on. I can't stand to be home in jeans I feel so uncomfortable.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I don't like clothes very much, but I do wear em.

I sleep nekkid - so when I get up in the morning I grab a pair of undies and either pj bottoms, or stretchy comfy black pants, and grab a sports bra.

That's usually how I spend my day at home. If someone comes to the door, I run and get a shirt from my bedroom dresser, no big deal. My hair is always done though. It's not that hard... I always tie it up. tongue.gif

I got it cut recently.. and it wasn't quite long enough to tie - so i had one of them do-rag things... lol but now I can tie it up again, and have like 5 or 6 bobby pins holding down the top.

5littleladies replied: I cannot stay in my pj's all day-I feel like a bum if I do! tongue.gif I get dressed and usually put my hair into a pony before going about my business. Getting a shower is a miracle for me right now-at any time. rolleyes.gif

ilovemybaby replied: H*ck no. LOL I get up and put clothes on and start my day. Unless I'm going out. Then I shower, get dressed and go out. I don't wear makeup.
I shower at the end of the day before I start dinner. After I've done all the cleaning etc... otherwise I just feel dirty again and would shower twice a day.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I never stay in my p-jays unless I'm sick, so I'm always dressed in the morning. I'll put mascara on and maybe some lipgloss, but that's about it. And my hair is typically up in a ponytail unless I'm going to meet a friend or to a mom's group meeting.

Brias3 replied: I typically like to try and get showered and dressed in the morning as I am more productive if I do so but sometimes, the farthest I'm willing to go for comforts sake on a cleaning day for example is running pants or something rolleyes.gif

Crystalina replied: Ok, I wear pjs all day BUT I wear the pjs that don't look like pjs. NO "I don't do mornings" t-shirts or gowns. I wear the pj bottoms that look like sweatpants, they have drawstrings and the tops are like t-shirts. That way if UPS comes to the door or someone happens to come over I'm presentable but comfortable.
