Runny Noses - Yuck

MommyToAshley replied: I've never heard of that either. I know sometimes Ashley has stinky breath in the morning and I asked the Ped about it. She said that even if they get a slight bit stuffy and breath through their mouth then their mouth/throat gets dried out and can cause that smell. But, I have never heard of a stinky runny nose... I wonder if it is some kind of infection? Let us know if you find anything different out.

A&A'smommy replied: Um well it sounds like it might have a bit of a an infection ALyssa has done that ONCE it was REALLY gross but it turned green after that. I'm SO glad that she likes to blow her nose because that was awful!

ediep replied: I have never heared of that! I would go back to the doc, does she go to a group of ped? Sometimes if Jason sees one in the group and he doesn't get better and we go back, I try to see a different doc for a different opinion.
do you give her any decongestant? maybe that wold help to dry it up

Not to "butt" in, but I am an RN. So maybe I can help. It doesn't really sound normal to me. It would help to know the color. Usually green means there is an infection somewhere. Clear is usually a sign of allergies. The fact that it smells odd concerns me. You should get another opinion.

My2Beauties replied: Well Hanna has been having a runny nose for quite some time now and 3 docs have told us allergies, this last time she did have a sinus infection along with allergies though! I know that being congested causes her breath to stink sometimes but not her actual snot to stink! I don't know I would go get it checked out again!

TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I have heard of it..and this is what happened to my step sisters child

She had the been playing with a pair of fake pearls. They broke.. I think she was 2 and half at the time..She put one UP her nose..Can u believe that...

She had a running nose, that STUNK..and BAD breath.

They took her to 2 different doctors. Finally an ear nose and throat. After they figured out what..it was easy to fix..and gave her some antibotics..
