Ruby and Max - Anyone watch this?
CantWait wrote: What's the deal? Ruby is a 9 year old girl bunny who daily and nightly takes care of her I'd say 2 year old boy bunny brother Now that was a mouthful. She cooks, cleans, gets Max ready for bed, everything. Grandma is around every once in awhile, but where are the parents?
Just one of those stupid burning questions
coasterqueen replied: I've watched it here and there and have wondered the same thing. I've NEVER seen them in the many times I've watched it.
Freckled Momma replied: I've had to endure Max & Ruby numerous times and I have never seen any parents, just the occasional Grandma and other adult like scout leader...I find this show very annoying and weird...lol Ruby is a nag and Max is a pain lol
danahas4monkeys replied: both our little ones are into that we tivo it lol yes i wonder too where are mom and dad , if you notice there are family pics on the wall lol so where are they!
dana
Jamison'smama replied: No idea but we love Max and Ruby--we even have the book Dragon Shirt that they made an episode about.
mummy2girls replied: yes jenna watches this show:) and i have always wondered as well...
fashionmumofboys replied: My boys watch this show, and I have also wondered about where are the parents.
CantWait replied: Oh I've never noticed the pics. Will have to keep an eye out next time, shouldn't be that long...
CantWait replied: Well so far this hasn't solved a thing
Freckled Momma replied:
I looked it up: http://www.tv.com/max-and-ruby/show/14982/...&full_summary=1
still doesn't really explain the missing parents
MamaJAM replied: I hate that show....I try to snap the remote before the boys see the credits (they think it's funny). I was soooooo happy when it went off the air/changed times a while back - but it's been back for a few weeks again. YUCK!
amynicole21 replied: I'm watching this episode right now! Too funny. Yes, there are pics of parents on the wall. Too weird. I guess it's like the Peanuts though - you never saw Charlie Brown's parents either
Kaitlin'smom replied: Yep kait LOVES this show right now. Ruby in one episode says they are 7 years old, but I dunno how old max is I would say mabey 2. his lack of words is what bugs me.
Jamison'smama replied: On the Nick Jr website it says he is 3 1/2 but with his small vocabulary, that surprised me.
mom2tripp replied: I have watched it a couple of times and I think it's a bit odd
kimberley replied: dh and i have had this very conversation
3xsthefun replied: Kaitlynn use to watch this show. I thought it was a bit odd you never seen the parents either.
3_call_me_mama replied: Ya know marie. Dh and i were JUST talking about this this morning! She's not even nine (i don't think cause she is all fascinated by Roger who is 7 1/2 cause he's an older kid!!) and max must be about 2 or so (based on language) NAD you're right we always wonder why there are no parents! Grandma lives next door but is more of a playmate than a caregiver. and they take the bus everywhere alone, (to the mall to buy new overalls, to a friends house) she has to bathe, feed and watch this litttle brother plus she sits for the baby down the road too (baby huffington!) which blows me away! the kids love it but i thinkit's a bit, well ok, VERY unrealistic and it's actually a pain to explain to cameorn that they can't do things that max and ruby do cause you need a grown up (he wants to know why they can't take baths alone or go on teh bus to the store alone!)
CantWait replied: LOL that is way to funny.
That's right Di, she is 7 I remember watching that episode just the other day. And max is 3 and a half, holy smokes....so now on top of everything that Ruby does, she's also taking care of a slow learning child This show gets funnier by the second.
Freckled Momma replied: LOL @ a 7 year old taking care of a 3 1/2 year old slow learner ALL ALONE (feeding him, bathing him, going on buses downtown..wtf??)... I won't even leave my 9 yr old son here alone with his lil 2 yr old brother while he's sleeping to run to my mom's a couple blocks away and come right back..yeah good examples of sibling relationships there and absent parenting...
luvbug00 replied: I like that show!! Mya did too. I gave up on wondering where thease bunnies parents are.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: The parents in that show seem as responsible as the parents in Caillou. Which my kids ALSO do not watch.
I'm sorry... I can't let my kids watch such unrealistic crap. No offense to anyone or anything - I just don't like my kids thinking they can do things that the characters do - such as ride around the block, alone, on a trycicle, at 4... and me as a parent not get ticked off - just say: "Oh i was so WORRIED!"
Riiiight.
Celestrina replied: I would absolutely flip if my son tried some of those things. Right now Ben's favorite show is "Blue's Clues."
A&A'smommy replied: Alyssa LOVES that show and I can't stand it the funny thing is my mom and I talked about that show yesterday.... anyway if it makes her happy I don't mind letting her watching it
lisar replied: I do not like that cartoon I think Ruby is mean to Max. My 5yr old loves it.
Lisa
CantWait replied: She is isn't she???
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Oh I don't like that show at all. It just seems like Max gets away with a lot. I think every episode I have seen Ruby is trying to get him to eat something healthy and he always gets out of it.
remtana replied: My DH HATES that show. I think it is cute, but have always wondered about the parents also. My girls like to watch it when it is on. My 9 month old has a couple of Max & Ruby books
