Rough Night For Spencer

He was screaming and yelling at them, wouldn't let them take his vitals (she said that he may have broken the thermometer), he kicked a table out of the way and sent viles of blood flying across the room. They think he may be going through withdrawals from the Hydromorphone. I told them they were weaning him off of it to quickly. The nurse said he was very aggitated and figidy. At one point he asked to talk to me and I'm very upset that they didn't let him call me. They gave him a bolous of hydromorphone and some ativan to try to calm him down. I have no idea what they are planning to do. My poor little guy!

ITA they should have called you if he wanted you... no matter the reason!

MommyToAshley replied: Oh no... poor Spencer. It does sound like they are weaning him too quickly. I can't believe they didn't let him call you! He's been through so much and knows that he can count on you... they should have let him call you! Have you gotten any place with the patient rep yet?

I hope Spencer has a better day today. Give him lots of hugs from us!!!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: It stinks that they didn't let him call you. He should always be allowed to call his parents. But think of how much better he must be feeling to really let loose like that. I hope they start re-weaning him from the hydromorphone slower this time. That can be a slow, difficult process.
